craig mac Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Now i have your attention...... As the bad weather is coming, salt and sand all over the roads etc etc We dont get the chance to wash it off as often as liked... Well hear this Prestige Hand Car wash Company Abel cars beside loch of loriston have offered all members a wee discount valid until the end of May THEY ARE OPEN 7 DAYS FROM 0930 get in early or at a lunchtime or around 3pm as these tend to be there quieter times, They are busy always, that alone tells you how good they are....... I regularly use these boys through the week, twice a week actually and they do a first class job for the little they charge, as i dont get the chance through the week to get the salt and crap off it till the weekend Normal Price for Wash Wheels and Wax is a whole £6 normally, and they do really do a great job clean sponges etc no brushes etc, car is rinsed first, then all hand washed, rinsed, wax sprayed, and rinsed again. I trust no one to wash my car, but these guys are first class, am sure Cal ? also uses them now and again. They have a no acid spray policy on subaru alloys anyway, unless you actually request it, but the jet cleaner fair takes them up anyway However after a wash wheels and wax on the way home tonight, i had a chat with the owner guy and guess what we are getting a wee discount All SIDC Members again WHO SHOW THERE CARDS AND SHOW OF CARDS ONLY WILL GET THE DISCOUNT. It applies to WASH WHEELS AND WAX DEAL ONLY.... He has agreed to give us a whole £1 off I can hear some of you now big deal a whole quid...better in your pocket than someone elses, well it is in my book So pop in get in the wash bay, produce your card, get the wash wheels and wax for a nice round £5 whole euro pounds. Instead of £6 They are good and a £1 off is a pound off.[] anythink for nothing is a good think am sure you agree. So yet another reason for more Aberdeen owners to join sidc Get your car washed and waxed by hand 35 times between now and end of May and our membership has paid itself. It there to be used just like the town and county deal, Which by the way is going down really well with Gordon Rough one of the bosses, so well in fact he is coming out to our next feed night with us!!
cullenmin Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Nice 1, although I have no idea where this place is! Might pop in by on the way home sometime if you were to show me the way.[H] Rich
craig mac Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 Cheers Frank A pouns a poun [] Its amazing what you can do with a little effort with some folk, Never be scared to ask for a deal, thats my policy.....As Wuz []
philip_wilson Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Nice one Craig [Y] I have used this place a few time and must say they do a really good job, now with the pound saving I can get an extra burger from BK [] Just need to get a deal with BK sorted out []
scoobyiain Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Well done craig, can you clarify what exactly they use to wash your car as i don't let sponges touch my car ( causes swirl marks and is a pain to polish out). I know its a bit away from and the car will prob get dirty again by the time i get home but i would still like to give them a try they sound really good
micra_wrc Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 well done Craig [*]nice of them to give us a discount, especially since what they do isnt so pleasant in this cold weather. Lets hope we can cheer them up by giving them some business [Y]
st3ph3n Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Well done Craig. 20% discount is not to be sniffed at, even if it is just £1. Soon mounts up at twice a week. At my last job we had a pressure hose out the back which was great for getting the crap off the car during the week. That was the jobs only redeeming point though.
kloon Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Nice one again Mr. Mac, have used them before and they are first class and was planning on heading up there tomorrow [Y]

I know its a bit away from and the car will prob get dirty again by the time i get home but i would still like to give them a try they sound really good Iain, Its actually the lambswool type things they use, woolie one side and has like the mess for tar stubborn spots on the other mate. Like the Autoglym one i use at home, Hey my car is just over a year old, and i am not as bad as Sammy the Chammy and Spongebod Guspants if a fly hits there windas its full wash wax all over for they 2[], but am a fussy hoor in ah mate. Not that there is anything wrong with taking pride in yer pride and joy, some folk even take there wheels aff te wash and wax in the back as well!! And other stainless polish there back box in the pipe and oot!! I am guilty of wonder wheelin and waxing my mud flaps when i give it the full bifta masel!![] My last mark 2 Xr2 bought in 98 was an f plate 55k on the clock and it was spotless, bought it from someone who had owned it from new, every thing done on the car was at a ford garage, even yearly brake inspections 5 folders of reciepts, i washed and polished it every weekend with out fail, used to get slagged to death from everyone...."its a f**kin auld raft oh an xr2, you'll be lucky to get rid of it when you buy yer scoob"...... I doubled my money on that car, i had it 3 year too and added about 40k to the mileage. Boy came all the way from Edinburgh to collect after he paid, again only photos and history Same thing with my Classic 98 uk bought in 2001 27k on the clock minter, oil change every 3k from new can not mention price but Wuz and Kev at Town and County Subaru they knew the car, i honestly thought it was hot when i saw it at the price i could have sold it for 5k more just from driving it to aberdeen from central area the next day, 3 years ownership another 25k on the clock kept up the oil changes, and spit and polished every weekend, sold for 1.5k over what i originally paid for it, Flew from Birmingham to collect, even gave me an extra 100 when he saw it he was so chuffed with it condition!!!! Mug!!![] Same with the Westfield bought of ebay unseen claimed 5k since built only photos, arrived took the car to guy who knows them inside out and he guest double the money i paid for it, he said i stole the car not bought it, again kept 2 years added about 7k to the mileage and made 2.5k when i sold it. Just shows ye though look after something, it pays of in the end....There is always someone looking for something and will pay the price if its looked after. Rant over total tangent there. sorry....mmmmm wonder why!! Back on topic They are good enuff for my car, if they were not i would not be using and or recommending them buddy...[]

Havent been there since i've got my scoob (prefer to wash her myself now) but my micra and justy were regular customers []
andy Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Iain, Its actually the lambswool type things they use That can't possibly be true. No Aberdonian would see a sheep abused in such a way - especially not a young tender one just ripe for the taking! [] Andy * *who is an exiled-Aberdonian himself and gets more that his fair share of p***-taking before anybody starts []
scoobyiain Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Thanks craig will def come up and give them a try out now. Sounds like you are quite the salesman, fancy trying to sell my rs for me not having any luck yet. Had an offer of 2k [:@] from someone in aberdeen but told him where to go.
