Open Pit Lane Trackday on Saturday 20th January 2007.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I work in a school for children with physical disabilities. We have some weekends when some of the students stay at the school. One of those is the weekend of the 20th.

Some of the students showed an interest in going to brands to watch the Scooby’s on the track. We have been there before, as a school so know that it’s safe for the students. But was wondering if there was any chance of getting them closer to the action, like maybe in the pits. It’s just any ask and I am happy for people to say no way.

HI Gina see the thread on Brands Hatch open pit lane track day 20th Jan 2007 in KS.... [Y]

I did read that thread, thats how i know about the track day, but i didn't want to just take the kids as i'm sure it's not going to be a hot sunny day and really the only reason they would want to go this time of year is to get up close to the cars. And i didn't just want to turn up with them I wanted to ask 1st.

 Thanks for your help though

Oh right, the best person to ask then would be Deani_age, if you sent him a PM he may be able to answer your question. Hope that helps you.

I dont think there is a limit to spectators and there is food on site

too.  I think you can have access to the indoor seating if it is

cold and raining as well. Best to check with the organisers on any age

limits to the pits although last time i was there they seemed to let

anyone in the pits

Cool, we have to taken the kids to brands loads of times (i have to say normally to british super bikes) The reason they want to go is they like the sound of my car but I have told them that my car sounds s**t compared to all of your cars (but i still love my car!!) but i didn't really know what the open track day was about and if the kids could get close to the cars.

Hi

You are welcome to call me on my mobile. 07747 021831.

How old are the students? How many will you be bringing? As far as i know, the age limit for the garages is 16 or over, however the rules do seem to be a bit confusing.

The students need to be 14 or over to be a passanger, I am not sure if there would be any restrictions for anyone with a physical disability.

As I have said, please feel free to call me.

You could also try calling Brands Hatch direct on 01474 872331 or 08708 505014

Hi

thanks for that, I'll give you a call later to day. When I know more about the which students are going. The one thing I do know is that none of the students will be able to get into any of the cars, not unless some one wants to drive the mini bus round (which could be quite funny).

Thanks every one for you help

As far as I know it is free to get in, and the pits are open to anyone over 16, so you can get a close up of the cars taking part.

The Open Pit Lane sessions start at 10.00 Hours.
