markymark Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Thinking of upgrading from my uk classic turbo to an sti 8 or 9, has anyone done this & regreted it or has it been all good ? Any views or comments ? []
4Hero Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I went from a 95 plate uk turbo, to a 53 plate wrx, then eventually got an sti, and all I can say is that nothing matches the sti. DO IT!
G.Mac Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Go for the nine[] Spend a tad more than PPP and have an uber powerfull car (less than 2.5K) Graeme
fai17 Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I would get a 8 if your budget stretch for a 9 but a 9 is a better base car[]
craig mac Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Get a 9 dont bother with PPP Pash, as GMAC says for in my case it was less than 2k and its fair to say my car is pretty rapid as is Gmacs PPP Or a few choice mods and Andy F for roughly the same price, no question really[] Marky Mark, Near Aberdeen? You are welcome to pop round and take a run in Thunder anytime to see what can be safely done to a 9[] Anytime, drop me a PM i can meet you what ever...... Once you have driven it, you will know what you will want[Y] And no you cant buy mine yet Aug 08 is sale time[] edited to add, unless the offer is goog enough[]
z1000 Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 There all good but for the money i can't imagine what you could get that would out perform and handle like an STi and as the others said the tuning possibilitys are endless. P.S mines is up for sale [:'(]
the squiggle Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Go for a JDM STI 3, 4, 5 or 6 and make it a STI RA version if you can, preferably a V-Limited or Limited. Spend the money saved on proper upgrades that will shoot your spleen out your rectal cavity The 8, 9 and 10 is a tad lardy, IMHO, as a starting point {although that does not matter when your belly is as large as a Sailors and your boots are like Krusty the Klowns} and will need some extra ponies to overcome it weight advantage You need something like this to beat AndyF's classic
RA Dunk Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 bloody hell that things all over the place comming off the line
markymark Posted January 6, 2007 Author Posted January 6, 2007 Cheers Craig, will be in touch when I get back from offshore, I"m in oldmeldrum so fairly handy []
