Dave K Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Well finally got some time off over Xmas so made a start on the backlog of pics I haven’t processed, so first up was the RB relay. As you may not be aware, Richard decided to take part in the RB-Relay and asked me to be co-pilot, so here is the trip from start to finish. After getting up at 3:30am! and driving down to Lands End we meat a few bleary eyed SIDC members stumbling around in the dark as can been seen below, or not; Needles to say we didn’t hang around long as we had along day ahead of us for some and we couldn’t see sod all until we got to the first services/meet point; Not long and we were off again at a more leisurely pace this time []; Next service/meet point; Cheques handed over and photos taken by the press; Off again; This was the only camera we passed the entire trip!; Coming in to services to pickup a few more scoobs; You got to go you got to go; Breakfast stop and pickup more scoobs; RB Owners Club in attendance; Speech and cheques being handed over; Watching me watching you!; By this point we had been around the M25 and through the Dartford tunnel but then the heavens opened; The Boss; Dinner Time [] and we swamped the services; We then moved on to Prodrive, I wont post the pics as most have been seen; Moving on again into the midlands; Got ya; Next service stop, the daylight is starting to go from this point; The RAF Boys; Now we passed this van 3 times so I had to take a pic on the 3rd pass; Banana man; The last service stop for day one; Onwards into the night; End of Day One.
Dave K Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Day Two<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Started off wet; Into the Highlands we head; Had open rods most of the way; After causing chaos in a town, don’t recall the name, we regrouped on a lay-by out of town; Not may pics here on in as the roads were narrow and very twisty, play time[]; And finally we arrive, pic of the 4 cars that did the whole trip; The pap car as it became known; Handing over of cheques by the full runners; And everyone else; As we had a long run home we stayed in Inverness the night and had a few well earned beers, and some, and some more...; Up early in the morning and back off home, bit of scenery on the way back; And the funniest shot of the trip was heading over the border when Dylan pulled along side and showed this, priceless; And finally back home after a 4-hour boat trip, by which point the RAF Boys and Dylan had also reached home.
andrew_field Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 And not one pic of me. [:'(] Nice pics Dave.
Dave K Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Sorry Andy went through all of Richards and my pics from the services and not one of yours!, I think by that point in the day food was priority.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I kept the post simply as it would have tuned into war & peace by the time I had finished.
