Is it possible to arm and lock the car without setting the internal sensors as my dogs send it haywire everytime i lock up?

Yes.

On mine you turn the ignition to on, press the alarm button, turn the car off and remove the key, get out, shut the doors, hit the alarm key and it should flash the lights 8 times instead of 4. That turns the ultrasonics off. It only does it once, so same routine every time you get out.
