gogsie Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 I was very lucky I met a nice bobby as I did accelarate away from the lights a bit sharpish. Done a few naughty things lately so the talking to was a nice reminder to calm down a bit, although my daughter is good at keeping me under control. Been a few fatalities lately as well so makes you think - need to keep it for the track. Really need to get an out & out track car. I wonder if I'm the oldest boy racer in town - 40 [] Any advances on 40. Scooby doom and Stripe. Keep up the good work - Just hate Scamera vans don't think they are about safety more about money. Safety = Traffic cops ( I know can't believe I'm saying this), but not charging everyone left right and centre but by being a very visible deterent.
philip_wilson Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 It’s at times a thankless job thatI’m glad I don’t have to do! Compared to other industries the pay is poor thehours are long and some of the things they have to put up with are shocking. For example; At some point theywill have to witness and deal with things that you and I wish we never have tosee (unless your one sick puppy) It’s not uncommon that they are spat on (andworse) verbally and physically abused just for doing a job? And you wonder why somecoppers have attitude problems.
stripe Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 On the note of cameras and speed traps, yes they can be very frustrating, never been caught in a camera, but with the amout of them that are cropping up all the time (in quite silly places too) it's getting harder and harder to avoid them. As you say guys we are just doing a job, a job that I enjoy 90% of the time, but you do see very unpleasent things, and you do come up against plenty of mutants (Especially where I work!!) but we just have to get on with it, at the end of the day that is what we are paid to don, we all knew what we were signing on the dotted line for. Best thing I have ever done! Welsho, didn't want to come out directly and say bud, but hey at least it all went well for you in the end[]
craig mac Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Coming along past Loch of Loriston today heading north. 2 lorries heading south and a Police car with lights on poking its nose out trying to get past them, I pulled in to a small lay by and gave them a flash to come on to my side of the road They both gave me the thumbs up and a wee woo woo on the siren for pulling over off the road to let them through[] Hope they are so kind the next time they take it upon themselves to pull me over[]
