Guest AlanK Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Have a lovely MY99 waggon with full PPP which I love to bits (+ PHP and uprated brakes) Was gonna get a Sports cat downpipe and decat centre section and go to Andy F but at same time want to keep the "unmolested" status of the car for when I sell it on - beginning to think PPP means it already had a sports cat downpipe, is that correct? And if so what should I do next that wont really bugger about with the car? (planning on droplinks, front strut and ARB early next year just for the hell of it)
ally-b Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I'd recommend those handling mods on a classic - really 'tightens' it up [Y] Al.
scoobaroo Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Cusco kid is your man, the whiteline kit and geo. settings will transform your car m8 [] You know you want to [] Marty.
_jac_ Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Hypertech are doing a free fit on Whiteline products... JAC
Guest AlanK Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Hopefully do these early next year, will call Hypertech and see how much it is gonna cost and speak to Cusco aswell. Should these all be done at the same time? Is anything a higher priority if it needs to be spread out a bit? Anything else worth doing at the same time or that I should be aware off? Cheers AlanK
st3ph3n Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Alan, when doing anything suspension related you have to factor in "will I need to check the geometery after this?" If it's a yes then you're better getting it all done at once so that you only have to splash out on geometery once. No use getting suspension components put on and not getting decent geometery dialled in too of course.
Guest AlanK Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Prodrive Geo settings were done a month ago - not sure if the ARB or drop link means it will need done again?
JamesF Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Anti roll bar and drop links do not require a re-jig of the geometry but if you went down the anti lift route at the front then it would. Whiteline drop links and roll bars need to be fitted with all 4 wheels on the ground so either a flat bed ramp, on your back in the driveway or under a pit would do just as good. Modding bug still eating away at you then ??? Your Prodrive pack doesn't come with a high flow cat by the way.
Guest AlanK Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Bugger - back to sqr 1 if no sports car fitted - a few different people said it was which made me think..... (still hoping they are right and you are wrong of course []) Not sure about the Anti Lift as the car does not suffer much from that as it is with the stiffer springs I guess.. I have the technical compitance of an inhebriated Chipmunk so a probably looking to pay someone else to fit the stuff (unless I can find a kind volunteer who would accept beer and funny fags instead [])
derek_robertson Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I'd recomend a Mk 2 Escort in forest rally guise instead of all those mods, much more fun[][] See ya, Del
