Hi everyone,

Seen an STI intercooler in fleabay today. Got the wee wheels turning[:P]

Whats involved when exchanging the wrx i/c for an STI one ???

Apart from the obvious expense of the i/c I assume there is additional

ancillaries that are required. Cheers.

P.s. Is the Dundee meet still on for this monday ??

You need a bigger scoop for the bonnet + the rubber seal under the bonnet also. So yes it's not cheap.

But the IC itself bolts sraight onto the brackets.

What year of wrx and what year of sti TMIC??????

I assume its a newage STi and my motor's an '03.

Think the guys including the 'y shaped' piece thats underneath it aswell -

I take it that's what Gus is on about ??

Probably still need the scoop, seal and under bonnet frame bit too. (the bit the seal attaches to).

I was looking to do the same to my classic, but it was going to end up costing more than a new aftermarket TMIC.

Everything is there that you will need to fit it to your car. You will need the STI scoop and inner scoop but that's only if you  intend on getting the most out of the intercooler. Your WRX scoop and inner scoop will still fit without casuing you any problems.

I changed my TMIC for an aftermarket 'Big Daddy' and bought the STI scoop and inner off eBay. Scoop cost me £160 and inner was only £35. Subaru wanted around £250 for the STi scoop and never asked about the inner one.
