Nick555 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 We're coming across with the Scoob to the island for Christmas & New Year. The Scoob uses Shell V-Power exclusively. On my last trip in May, I filled up at that nice Total station in Ochan. [] I used the Super unleaded - or whatever it's called & then added a whole bottle of Octane Plus afterwards. Reading the label, it said that I'm supposed to put the Octane Plus in BEFORE I fill up. Does anyone else do this? It's a little inconvenient because it's obviously easier to fill up & then collect the bottle when paying for the fuel, then pour in the bottle afterwards. Is this not a good thing?
dipsy Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 buy a few bottles before you go across there of octane plus and stick the bottle in first before filling tank up .
heazille Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Hi Nick, Just tell the guys on the till your taking the octane booster an then pay for it all at once[] And if yer coming from Heysham, fill up at the shell site as you come in to Lancaster 10PPL cheaper!!!! (And it's not my fault , i dont set the prices!) Ta Ta Richard
Nick555 Posted November 20, 2006 Author Posted November 20, 2006 Thanks for the advice Richard! [] Yep, I'll be taking the sick boat from Heysham again! [gulp] Will I pass the Shell garage if I leave the M6 at J34?
heazille Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Yes you will, off the motorway and as you come in to lancaster its on the rhs about a mile i guess then out of the garage into the one way system keep right, straight on at traffic lights over the bridge then lh lane & follow the signs for Heysham, real easy to find but lots of work at heysham so have to sit in one queue whilst they sort yer tickets out. see ya then Ta Ta Richard
Nick555 Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 That's great, Richard! Is the Shell station open late at night?
heazille Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 i think so, but check on the shell web site Scrub that, i am passing on sunday night for the early bird sailing, i will have a skeet(bringing the scooby back!!) Ta Ta Richard
Nick555 Posted November 22, 2006 Author Posted November 22, 2006 Thanks Richard Scooby's coming back? [<)]
Johnuk300 Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Well its good that you are going to get the car. What are you going to be doing with the rang rover?
heazille Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 She is for sale, will be at Glenn Coopers next week. Canny afford the whole fleet!!!!! so one has to go, and i don't think margy will be pleased if i sell her Outback!! And have 6 on the fleet at the mo what with the Scooby,Rangie,Outback,Dog Van, Plus Michaels & Traceys Motors!!
Johnuk300 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 How much are you asking for the car? I can ask at work if they know of any one wanting one. Is Glenn going to charge you for selling it for you?
heazille Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 £43k ish, and probably not as he will take something out of the next finance deal, thats how most of these places make any money Ta Ta Richard
heazille Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Hi Nick, Looks like by the time you get over here the Shell site's will be running V-Power so you will not need the booster And they take my Total card, so thats a bonus!!! Ta Ta Richard
Nick555 Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 Thanks Richard Please can you still check that Shell station near Heysham for me on your trip tomorrow? I need to plan my fuel stops! []
heazille Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hi Nick, The shell station is open 24 hours a day And, the V Power is 91.9ppl!!!!! Ta Ta Richard
Nick555 Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 Thanks Richard... so you survived the sick boat! [] It looks a good price too, I pay over 97p down here!
heazille Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Thanks Richard... so you survived the sick boat! Ha, Just about, it was a tad lumpy (read rough as hell!!!!!) but no problem in a cabin Ta Ta Richard
Cret Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Hi Nick, Looks like by the time you get over here the Shell site's will be running V-Power so you will not need the booster And they take my Total card, so thats a bonus!!! Ta Ta Richard I've got a total account card too. Does that mean I can get proper octane fuel with it from a shell garage at last or have I got the wrong end of the stick somehow? Seems odd that you could use a total card at a shell garage but great if I can do!!
heazille Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 95% of Shell station across take Total cards And i believe they all do over here, just as we (Total) take some Shell cards Ta Ta Richard
Cret Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm confused now - I thought you were a shell garage dude?!! I only get my juice from Total garages at the moment because using my account isn't like paying with 'real money' and I can still fill up when I'm broke at the end of the month, but if I can still use my Total card and get the good stuff from shell with it, it's a win win situation!! So the important questions then are - where's all our shell garages and when do they all get the decent juice? []
heazille Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Ha, wake up Jim!! We have been Total since September 2005!! Milestone on Peel road is the easiest Shell site to get in & out off and is another independent garage like ourselves Ta Ta Richard
heazille Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Total Fuel card, Aimed at business user's and the criteria has changed in recent years with about £500 minimum spend a month now Ta Ta Richard
