BIKE OR CAR

I own and run a site called Flying-Sparks.com which is a biking site.

This question always comes up which is faster and sports bike or a sports car ??

I know the old saying is the car is faster on the corners and a bike has faster pick up but I was just wondering if anyone has had any runs against a bike ??

Thanks

I think the Top Gear test some time ago was a

perfect example of this, think it was a Porsche and R1 that went head to head

on track.

The bike was quicker on the straights and the car on the bends, car won by the smallest

of margins, but to be honest I seen it as equal.

Also depends how big your gahonies are to![:D]

These debates have gone on for a while and most practical tests show bikes are quicker.

The Kawazaki ZZR1400 beat all-comers at a standard car drag race for one of the car magazines, against the likes of Porsches, Ferraris etc.

A Ducati was tested around a track against a Gallardo for Fifth Gear with the Ducati winning (as well as costing a huge fraction of the price).

Having tried both, I would have thought bike are quicker due to much lower weight, better power to weight ratios and mental acceleration.

And I know none of the SIDC lot could keep with JimmyMc when he was flying round the Mountain on his GSXR1000.

Hope you're all had a great Christmas and have a fantastic New Year.

Stay safe on the roads.

Or keep up with Colin McRae in a Scooby? [:D]

Well JimmyMc is a good rider but I'm not sure he can compete with the 1995 WRC Champion and third most successful rally driver of all time.

 lol

But then again I'm sure John McGuinness, Ian Lougher or Bruce Anstey would have their say round the Mountain taking on WRC drivers. lol
