ken555 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Does anyone know if "Loon Fung" on Sauchiehall Street is closed at the moment. Was planning on taking my HK inlaws there on Friday evening. But they're not answering the phone.
micra_wrc Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Ken, Loon Fung is still open as far as I'm aware. Other places in Glasgow that serve "traditional" Hong Kong chinese food include: "Zen" at Charing Cross (515 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G3 7PQ 0141 222 2302) which just up the road from Loon Fung and was formerly called Mayflower or the "ChinaTown" restaurant (42-46 New City Rd,Glasgow, G4 9JT 0141 353 0037) - next to the ChinaTown shopping mall near Cowcaddens. doorman, I doubt that Ken's inlaws will appreciate Peter's food in the same way as you guys (no offence Peter []) []
fai17 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 i know exactly what you are talking about Imy[] I was in Lung Fung about 2 weeks ago but whilst i was there i did notice some refurb work getting done.Try calling them again or go to Chinatown restuarant instead.
JohnSt Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Ken, doorman, I doubt that Ken's inlaws will appreciate Peter's food in the same way as you guys (no offence Peter [])[] Why ?
micra_wrc Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 the food that is served in your local chinese restaurant/takeaway is different from the food served in Hong Kong and the middle east.
RA Dunk Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 the food that is served in your local chinese restaurant/takeaway is different from the food served in Hong Kong and the middle east. so the food we all get and love from our local chinese resturants isnt really chinese then? []
ken555 Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 Thanks Guys will give them one more try. My definition of a good restaurant, is one that has a menu not in English.
