derek_robertson Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Here's a few pics from yesterdays crackin day out, I thoroughly enjoyed it & I was only a spectator. Surprise of the day for a few lucky chaps was a run in Bill Gowers Gpn Impreza, unfortunately Russel Cree who prepares the impreza for Bill managed to break the lh front wishbone on one of the runs through the forest stages. The remaining victims did manage a run in Rhonas Mk1 Escort with Tam Brown at the wheel. Best driver of the day award went to Craig. Most improved driver of the day award went to Fraser. At the end of the day all the guys who took part were winners. So who now wants to buy a Rally Car????? See ya, Del
jcscoob Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Del, they are some crackin piks from wot looks like a great muddy day out[y], and i see you have let the young lad of his strikt 22b cleaning duty's for the day, im sure he will make up for it today though[][] Welldone Craig and Fraser

WRC No 1 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 well done del for a magic day out. i am defo gonnae go back next year. loved that mrk2 u cant drive that car like u drive a scoob. i was 1 of the lucky ones that went into Bill Gowers Gp n Impreza and it was out of this world. post some vid soon as for the vid in the car no joy but still was a good run in that car. wullie
craigwrx Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Welldone to those chaps. Is that Craigwrx? Great pics SCOOBAY [y] Yes Peter that's me, even got a free bottle of plonk ! [] ...it was a cracking day, real hardcore straight into it, i would fully recommend it to anyone ! ...they even took my daughter out for a blast ...
derek_robertson Posted November 5, 2006 Author Posted November 5, 2006 We were very fortunate to get Bill Gowers GpN Impreza for the troops to get a run in.It just depends on who's coming down for testing on the day. Tommy & Rhona tried to get 2 scoobs for us to have a shot in but one I'm sure was enough on the day. Bills Scoob used to belong to the late Allan Barr & is also the ex David Higgins championship winner. Willie Bonniewell used it to win his class in the Scottish Rally Championship a few years ago too. Some more pics Can you spot the front mounted spare tyre & cone filter[]
Guest AlanK Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Fantastic day out!! Cant believe the bottle of the instructors just jumping in the car with you and telling you to drive fast - they seem to have more confidence in you not landing in the trees than you have in yourself! No comment on whethe one Impreza was enough since Wullie seemed to break everything he got in just before me and a couple of others got a chance ;o) Obviously a bit disapointed that I didn't get a run in the Scooby round the forest but the guy still made a damn good show of getting that Escort round the stage instead - no doubt a rather different experience to the Impreza at that point. Definitely up for doing this again - cant wait!! (nice drive down there as well using the back roads!) Alan My token (crap) picture:
craigwrx Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Some more great pics u posted there mate [y] Have sent you a pm .... Craig
Guest Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 a brilliant day out If you get a chance you just got to go do this.No messing around in class rooms, straight into the car and off you go. Big thanks to every one at the rally school who looked after us all day and good luck to all at the Rally on the 3rd of December to quote wullie-"i was 1 of the lucky ones that went into Bill Gowers Gp n Impreza and it was out of this world."so was I ,driven by Ross who is going to be driving it at the Galloway Hills Rally. Also,a big thanks to Del(Scoobay)Ayrshire SIDC R.O. for taking the time and trouble to arrange a great day out, much appreciated.Great pics BTW cheers graham
derek_robertson Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 I've provisionally booked the first available date(1st Saturday in March 2007) if you guys want another day out. After the superb response for the last one I'm sure we could do a couple or more days next year. Unfortunately the maximum is once again going to be seven drivers although each driver can bring a guest ( the guests get a pasenger run through the forest stage) The price will be the same as last time. You can indicate your interest by posting on here. Cheers, Del PS. I'll post this in the events forum too.
stuart_marshall Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I'm up for doing the course in March if there's space. After hearing AlanK banging on about it I have to give it a go! And it sounds a lot better than Knockhills attempt at a rally course which I did few years ago!

Kenny-MR2 Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Hi guys, first i'd like to say i'm glad you all had a blast on your day out with the rally boys! Ross and Tommy are friends of mine and have asked me to build them a website for the school, just wondering if anyone with pictures from the day out could send them to me so that i can add them to the gallery on the webpage when it goes live? Obviously i wouldn't just lift the pictures off here without permission so only pictures that get emailed to me can really be used Can email them to: kennymac <AT> gotadsl.co.uk please? Don't put too many pics per email or it will bounce them the first draft front page of the website is up at: www.scottishforestrallyschool.co.uk Feedback on the first version is welcome, i'm not an overly creative person but i think it looks nice Cheers Guys
cusco kid Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 well done chaps looks like a good day i recognise bill gower in the piccsbill and i rallied against each other in the scottish championship in sierra cosworths ,he had a sapphire i used a 3 door good days ,when men were men and sheep were nervious ha ha geo[:$]
Guest AlanK Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Website looks promising - thats one thing I mentioned before that your really need to advertise yourself on the web as I would imagaine had I known about the school before I would have been down ages ago! Cant wait till March!!
Kenny-MR2 Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Thanks Alan. The page will be getting developed late january once the pictures are all together, it should be nice when it is done and hopefully if i do the tags right i will also get the lads some hits off google and the like
