STi_Bandit Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hope you enjoy it mate its a great game. P.S. F.A.O Welsho (ive a copy of this too :-) ) http://www.codemasters.com/tocaracedriver/...h/knockhill.php
thewelsho Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Cheers Martin. The link to buy the game doesn't work, so I am I going to download the trial version of GTR 2. If I like it, I might join in on the SIDC online event, should it ever happen. J
Nelsdir Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I have a Logitech DF II but don't use it that much (might sell it if anyone's interested - works with the PC and PS2). Anyway - Live for Speed is the one for me. Play that more than anything else. The car physics are just superb. Car skinning is popular - this is my current trusty stead [] (dons flame suit and waits ...) I'll get a hold of GTR 2 as well and see how that goes but would recommend LFS to everyone. Neil
scoobyfuzzy Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 ok, trying to get used to this GTR 2 , may be a while b4 i ready to play online with u guys. P.S. martin, see on that gtr2, is there an option to view the circuit on the screen while racing, just like to see the trake while racing. fuzzy
STi_Bandit Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Its a proper simulator GTR like live for speed :-) dont think there is an option to get an h.u.d of the track whilst driving, will have a wee look tonight Bandit
scoobyfuzzy Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 cant see an option for it maself, but thot id check with some1 that already has the game, well im away to practise some more. lol fuzzy
RA Dunk Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 so who all playes these games on the pc then and who all use other things to play online?
craig mac Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Folks Which wheels would you recommend? I would like one that works on the PS2 and the PC if there is such a thing? Not really a big gamer on the PC, But if there is Online racing to be had i might be up for a bit of that However i bought that Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Double Agent the other day, Had to then buy a Bigger LCD for the "Den" (toy room) Now i canna put it down.[:$][]
STi_Bandit Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Hey craig, iam very sad but iam very tempted by this one, also PS2 compatabile must justify the price lol. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products...CONTENTID=11867
craig mac Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Martin There is buying a wheel to play games with and there is throwing money away for fun, I think that one falls in to the second area, Dont you[] So any other suggestions?
STi_Bandit Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Craig, Least with that id be able to keep up with you on track, well in the online world hhehhe. different story in real life lol. Think Neilster suggested one he uses above that works with both pc and mac. (Logitech DF II) Bandit
craig mac Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 LOL Cool i see that in his post, Will drop hiom a PM as he said he may be selling it [] You will pee pee all over me at Online driving games, No question. [:$] Next i will need to check my graphics card is fit for purpose, The board and Processor are fit no problems there, but not sure about the gc.[*-)]
RA Dunk Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 with the lonngggggg winter nights comming in a decent game is more than worth it`s weight in money, would be a good laugh if we all had the same one though, only prob is some use the pc while others use xboxes or the likes, got a question if somebody has a pc can they play in the same servers as someone using a xbox or the likes?
STi_Bandit Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Yeah think i need to get a new graphics card currently have a radeaon x300 pci-express and all the fans inside the machine go mad after about 10mins of game play, unless its the processor over heating. Bandit
4Hero Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 what you need is a dual core pentium, with 2 gig ram and a 512meg Nvidia martin, oh and 5.1 surround headphones [] p.s. the Logitech® Formula Vibration Feedback Wheel is fairly decent for 30 quid []
craig mac Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 So an AMD 64 3800, 2.5gb ram and my 512 card should cope[8-|] Does that wheel also work with the PS2 ?
RA Dunk Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Bandit , you could pick up an nvidia 6800 ultra or GT for cheap enough nowadays, i have one of them and can run everygame i have flat out with graphics maxed out as well, or you could go for one of the newer models think its the 7800 series now?
4Hero Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 you should be fine with that pc Craig [] ah dinnae ken aboot the ps2 though
