Guest AlanK Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Just been on Mytyres but cant seem to get it to bring up any prices for 215/40/17 that are currently on my car (classic waggon) The geometry needs sorted but need 2 new front tyres to do that - I hjave BF Goodrich on at moment but was planning on changing to Goodyear F1 (not recomended by garage) or a set of Toyos. They can buy me 2 new BFG to replace worn front tyres or 4 new toyos I need to know (asap) if I should just stick with the Goodrich or change all 4 tyres to Toyo this afternoon.... agh!! this is gonna cost a damn fortune!!
scoobymadburd Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Go for the Toyo's IMHO very good in the dry and wet excellent tyres. Claire p.s we have a classic wagon too and toyo's are our favourite. Good Luck
Guest AlanK Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Glad you all agree with what the garage has said, however he thinks I should save some cash and just change for 2 new BFG as they really rate them.... Ahwell will wait and see what they offer - seems about 375 at least to buy Toyo (and fit) off the net at blackcircles - will go with the garage if they are under 400 Alan
st3ph3n Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Goodyears or Toyos are the way to go for our roads. Quite similar tread patterns. The grip on the goodyears is astounding. Road noise and comfort are also good, unlike the Bridgestone RE050 which are noisy.
craig mac Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Or buy my Bridgestones RE070'S instead and save mucho money [] Toyo's i use everyday on my 18's though and they are great[]
Guest AlanK Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Ordered T1R @ 85 quid a corner (which should be inc vat/fitting etc I hope)
thewelsho Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Ordered T1R @ 85 quid a corner (which should be inc vat/fitting etc I hope) £85 per Toyo tyre! Man that's cheap! I thought these things cost about double that!!!! Now I don't feel so bad if I wreck my tyres at Knockers if I can get them as reasonably priced as that! Well, I don't really want to wreck my tyres, but if I did... []
wrxmania Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 The BFG G-Force Profilers are SUPERB tyres. Tested on 03- WRX's by BFG. BFG Profiler G (the older one) are REALLY terrible. Had both types. Brian []
jcscoob Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I have Toyo's on just now and think they are crap ! I would go for yokohams []
frank c Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 What kind of Yoko's will you be getting next Jon and are you using the T1r's ? I'm using the Eagle F1's and it would need to be a very good tyre to replace them.
jcscoob Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Frank it will be - A048's or A032's or if the pennys are tight it will be Pradda's []
