normal i meant a car without DCCD as this transforms the handling of a STI and makes alot more like an EVO.

only been in a few classics on KH but know guys with P1's with full whiteline set ups and they still aint happy with them

Yes my car has DCCD

And am not talking about BHP, i was already aware that BHP means zip, as the furry rodent already clearly explained to you.

My car is an 05 Sti, and the DCCD was standard, so why it that classed as not normal[*-)]

Think maybe you should ask a few of the regular K/Hill lads, and maybe look back some of the other threads before you lay down the gaunlet[:o]

Like this one............... http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/808050/ShowPost.aspx

My car pi5hed on an ultima round Knockhill last trip out, What more can i say.[:)]

Understandable R/C as K/hill is quite a tight track..but i wouldn't change my set-up or car just for K/hill,

I'm quite happy not having DCCD for back roads and the like. and i certainly wouldn't want my car to handle like an Evo..

Or i'd buy one :o

apologies as i didnt realise your car was an 05..i have you mixed up with some one else...

i have not thrown down any gauntlet, i only stated that the WR1 handles better than a non DCCD equiped sti.

it was you that said

if i am not mistaken the WR1 going round the Top Gear test track understeered so bad it looked like a Super tanker making a turn.

It is an inherant problem with all out the box scoobies.

How does your Cossie compare to your mates WR1 ?

the two cars are so different they are uncomparable..

one is a bang up to date rally machine and one is an ancient old sierra..

Rapid Cossie Wrote - i said that a WR1 would beat most scoobies on track..which i believe it would?  true or not?

Possibly yes, but to be honest, not most scobbies on track are standard either

It also has a lot to do with the driver too, You could have a 500ft/lb car and an avearge driver, and a 300ft/lb car with someone who can drive it on a track, I know who would win that[:o]

Out of the box Imprezas suffer from an easily curable problem - Geometery by Stevie Wonder.

Best £40-50 you can spend on the cars IMHO.

Obviously doesn't entirely cure the understeer on its own, but it is front heavy car obviously.

Seems very strange that you now come out with that response now andy, since you were aware of problems both times and even removed the first map.... at first map u told me the air was flowing "too well" for the turbo, so car goes back with new turbo, headers, FMIC, injectors, etc etc and still no further progression, hence the change to gems, car is on rolling road whilst still with ecutek on day of change to gems only for me to be told my car has been left running "dangeously lean mid-range"...

also, i find it strange you think my exhaust headers were melted, in the fact that they have just come of the car and been sold on and are having no troubles and were in good condition, secondly, i might ask, what engine problems??car is in for upgrades now and none due to anything braking....

as i said in an earlier post, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i was only stating mine, i know you have mapped a lot of newage cars since then and people have been happy with them, but i felt both times that we tried it that theecutek map did not work for my car, have had other people look at it who agreed,so it was changed to gems, which i am finding suits the car a lot better.

This is very interesting, Andy mapped my car with a few choice mods[:P] Sti9 and has been on 2 seperate rolling roads and both results were totally spot on

Fuel is actually highlighted in one print out and it quotes " Fuelling is spot on" [:)]

I look forward to Andy's reply

Scott I have given up trying to educate both you and your tuner Steve Simpson. I explained to you a number of times that with the APS parts fitted your car was suffering from boost creep, a mechanical issue with the turbo that is outwith the control of the ECU, any ECU.

Any tuner relying on an AFR figure as displayed on a rolling road on a car with a maf sensor and induction kit has a basic lack of understanding of how these cars work.

See you at knockhill shortly ? I'll also have a new age car so level playing field [:P]

Seems like someone is going to have their mirrors full of blue and white eh Craig [:)]
