Hi folks well not good news i have noticed a knocking noise coming from the car at 2,500 rpm upwards and all i can describe it as is a deisel engine type of sound ,  so have asked on other forums and the general opinion is the bottom end is away so the question is .

I am in West Lothian Livingston who would you folks recommend me giving this job to if it be the bottom end is away , i have a man from Hypertech in Bonnybridge coming to look at it in the moring have had them do work before and found there price to be resonable any other suggestions would be greatly accepted ?

I have used Hypertech for a few jobs, and always been pleased.  They do go out of there way to help you.

However, looking at you location, and considering the job in hand, it might be worth getting Alex F Noble Subaru in Penecuik to look at it. I imagine they would be far dearer, but nothing better than genuine Subaru mecahincs for such a job.

Not sure, I would be surprised if that was the case.

No harm in asking.  You could even drop a pm to Scoobyseller555.  He posts here a lot.  He is based at Ian Grieve Subaru in Falkirk.

He has a post in the Events section under the north run if you cant find him here to pm.

They will do a JDM car at the Aberdeen dealers

Sorry to hear that mate

Had this happen to me last year 99 Classic, 2500 rpm what can only be described as the sound of a pneumatic drill. Turned out to be big ends away and had to have engine replaced ;-(
