mick_weatherill Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Recent "interference" from the SIDC on what we can and can't post as well as some of the Chairman's comments has led me to ask the question? Dean....I think i should draw your attention to the SIDC websites T & C 's before this post goes any further....As you are probably aware, with ANY PUBLIC FORUM there are legal implications to what can and cannot be posted....hence the moderators need to intervene when necessary. If there is a problem with this, surely you should converse with Phil Stephens via PM first? This is just MY view on the situation.... JON Sorry dean im with jon on this one.

I'm with Jon as well on this one, yes i know i'm a moderator on here but i don't always agree with Phil on what should be moderated but i feel the pro's far outweigh the cons Ian
Dalthegooner Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 It is frustrating when we are treated like children and some of the posts are moderated when there is no need, this has led me to question whether I still want to be a member of the SIDC but after thinking about it I agree with what Granby said; the pros far outweigh the cons.
phil Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Thanks for the support guys, even from the gentleman [] who I moderated Its a tough job moderating and to be fair I can probably count on one hand how many posts I have moderated in Kent Scoobies over the last year Phil
SCOOBYTOO Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Don't forget the SIDC isn't just about this forum. There is alot to the SIDC that we ALL participate in from time to time. TBH if it wasn't for the SIDC we probably as K/S wouldn't be doing hardly any events through the year as most of the days out are SIDC organised, and I have never been dissapointed with an SIDC organised event.. If there were a choice which there isn't any reason to be.... sorry but SIDC all the way... TBH I don't think there was any need to start this post as I can't see anyone realistically choosing SIDC over K/S. As most people heve already stated the pros massively outway the cons!!! MY 2P's worth...
Dalthegooner Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Just renewed my membership for another year [Y][H]
granby Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Just renewed my membership for another year [Y][H] Nice one mate []
granby Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Theres no need to be like that Dean, the SIDC & Kent Scoobies go hand in hand
phil Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 If members think the SIDC comes before Kent Scoobies, then this is not a club for me. Pele - please remove my name from all KS related events. Where does this come from?? You are a great local/regional club just like all the others CAD's, ESC, Scottish Scoobies, Oxon, Bucks, Etc Etc You benefit from being part of the SIDC as a local club and an individual member! What would Kent Scoobies achieve from being independant?
phil Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Thanks Tony But its all team work and there are many out there that make it work INCLUDING the REGIONAL CLUBS
SCOOBYTOO Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Dean. where was the interference from moderators which affected you thus starting this thread as I really can't understand where this has come from? I also notice that both Pele and Tony have been on line today and neither have commented on this post. As they seem to "RUN" K/S what are their thoughts or have you been put up to start this thread on their behalf?[*-)] This is not a "dig" at you but I feel is a justified question. Dean...
daniel Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Kent scoobies are part of a club called SIDC and if parts of the club break away it will affect the rest of the club, its the regional clubs that makes this all work as well as it does

tony_cousins Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I also notice that both Pele and Tony have been on line today and neither have commented on this post. As they seem to "RUN" K/S what are their thoughts or have you been put up to start this thread on their behalf?[*-)] Yes I have been online throughout the day as as for making a comment about this thread i am not to sure what I think. All I know is that there are members within the club who seem to have nothing better to do than bitch about things and then there are the few members who actually want to make the club work. As for running the club both myself and Pele spend alot of time and effort to make things happen and for 90% of the time everybody is happy and nothing is said but then when for the odd 10% something does go wrong or its not what certain members want then we get comments etc that are not needed. As a club we should be pulling our resources together and making it work but in my eyes there are members who dont want to be "part" of the club, but are also not willing to part company. Also the comment about us putting Dean up to starting this thread is bang out of order as I am quite happy to speak my mind on here anytime although i am the first to be moderated when I do. Dean is a grown man who is much more intelligent than most people on here including me and if this is his opinion he is entitiled to it. I think as a club member each and everyone of us needs to think about whats best for the club and stop all the back stabbing and just get on with making the club the best it can be.[] Tony
granby Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 OK everyone just incase this gets out of control please keep your comments on here civil, no insults please otherwise this thread will be removed Thanks Ian
granby Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Im being civil [] Yes you are Tony and as i was writing that post you had posted your comments up just before mine so it's not a go at you at all [Y]
SCOOBYTOO Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 TONY. I did not state you had put Dean up to it, I asked if you had? As you and Pele are running the club I'm surprised that neither of you had commented. I can't see where the back stabbing is coming from here, we as members of the SIDC and K/S have our own opinions and are replying rationally to the thread started by a very good friend of yourself, Dean
tony_cousins Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 And as i said before in my post, if i have something to say i would say it myself [], like i always have done ( although i normally get moderated [] ) I am not Deani-age's keeper and he makes his own mind up as to what he says. First I knew about this was when i logged on this morning which I think is when everybody else found out about it. And yes he is my friend but I also consider every member of K/S as a friend [Y]
Dalthegooner Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 whew i was getting worried there [] [] Me too. Was waiting for the thread to be removed [][][]
