trevelyan Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Lookin' to get new discs and pads on the rear of me 1999 uk turbo. thinkin' bout' standard discs with uprated pads, but dunno what pads to use. Don't want pads that give off too much dust, like a set of mintex i had on my old clio 16V. Anybody got a recomendation..??? Cheers in anticipation..!
frank c Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I've got the same car mate and next time round i'll fit standard discs and Ferodo Ds 2500 pads. Already have Goodridge hoses and will use Dot 5 brake fluid HTH's Frank
trevelyan Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 Cheers Frank, never used ferodo b4, they any good when kinda cold...?? not that i ever abuse my wee baby b4 warming her up first...!
frank c Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Never used these before mate but without blowing a wad of cash on AP's or similar i've been told this set-up is the way to go and will be ideal for the power i am running (280-ish).. Frank
wrxmania Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Ferrodo DS2500 or the slightly more expensive Pagid RS 4.2.1 (I use these) - both highly recommended but when you are going to buy, make sure you call Alyn at A S Performance - many of us will testify we have never found cheaper prices or better service outside trade price. imprezapete Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Any recommendations for New Brake pads and discs? Is it worth changing Brake fluid and doing brake hoses?

wrxmania Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I would go standard Subaru discs (that is what the Pagids and Ferrodo's were designed to work with according to A S P) or get a set of Brembo discs - grooved discs are more prone to warping apparently and drilled discs to cracking under heavy load. ~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Any recommendations for New Brake pads and discs? Is it worth changing Brake fluid and doing brake hoses? Godspeed Grooved Discs - same diameter as standard with DS2500 pads - sorted !
oobster Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Any idea how much a set of DS2500's would cost for a blobeye?
spooks Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Pads would cost about £125-140, dont have my receipt handy.Give AS Performance a wee call. BTW Pagids are a better pad to my wee feet than DS2500, make of that what you will.

oobster Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Cheers Cal [Y] Got the goodridge hoses fitted last week but the Mrs Peugeot 206 1.4 Automatic feels like it's got better brakes than mine [:S]
