lescazscoob Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 think this block should be strong enough for you lol
dipsy Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I bet you can sit in the crankcase when there is no oil there and its two stroke .It needs a big starter motor .No its turned over by compressed air. There's no picture of the turbocharger's .There alot of fabrication goes into that the really big marine diesels like that are made of steel instead of cast iron
shaun_odonnell Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 It's not really that big!!! Just really small folk working on it!!!
G.Mac Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 And another strange fact, they use ground walnut shells to clear out the turbo when its running....lol Graeme
the squiggle Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 it is to small for what im planing LOL higgy Is that what the nun said to the bishop? That is one massive engine with one massive fuel consumption record.
G.Mac Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 we had an 8 cylender 30,000 ish BHP engine fitted on the containership I was on and it drank 100 tonnes of heavy fuel oil a day at 71rpm @ approx 20.1 knots Graeme
