TheCrow Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Having a wee problem with starting the car at times. I got the car at the end of last winter and had this problem then, and now its starting to come back with the colder weather. Its got a strong turn over but it just wont catch, i need to keep it turning over for about 20-30seconds before it will catch. This is the same if i stall (hot or cold). (no other problems with the car when its running or anything) Any ideas what part could be at fault? Cheerrrs
ANDYJDMSTI Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I had the same problem too, battery changed and was still the same............just put it down to subarus being sh1t at cold weather starts. Although with mine it was fine when started once, no issues like you have when stalling.
RA Dunk Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Quote just put it down to subarus being sh1t at cold weather starts. deffo not that m8, i can leave my car for the best part of a month in the middle of winter when im away offshore and it will start first time everytime (unless i forget to turn something off then the battery`s fuxed) lol, got to be a slight problem wi his motor
stevie 4 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 i had this problem last year in my old celica gt4 turned out to be a loose connection in my cold air temp sensor.worth a look
TheCrow Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 wuill have a look.....next question: where is it on the scoob?
ANDYJDMSTI Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 just put it down to subarus being sh1t at cold weather starts. deffo not that m8, Well it obviously was with mine as the car was mapped not long after and no faults were found.
RA Dunk Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 hmm strange one, dodgy starter motor perhaps? [:|]
the squiggle Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Possibly a gunked up coolant strip located in the idle control valve
TheCrow Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 Quote Possibly a gunked up coolant strip located in the idle control valve again where can it be found to be checked?
