ScottyDog Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Hi, Can anyone confirm the spec on a late 2000 uk classic. I have been told that the last of the classic produced had a few extras to help them shift when the bugeye's came out. Namely they got Brembo 4-pot calipers and an STI intercooler. Is this true? Any other differences? Regards Scott
craig mac Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Scott Not as far as t&c Aberdeen are aware mate. Just looks like you may have picked one up with some very good mods m8 I know that Phillip_w's one is a 2000 and its not got Brembos or Sti i/c ......Has it Pheel? Craig
cullenmin Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Mines a W reg 2000, I certinally aint got Brembos or Sti i/c, wish it did though! Rich
dave_morgan Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 No, I don't think any classic came with Brembos as standard. The only brake upgrade I know about was the Alcon's on the P1. I haven't seen any non-sti's with the sti ic either (apart from ones upgraded by the owner of course!)
robert_mcdermott Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Mine's an X-reg and no Brembos or STI I/C on it either. Not yet anyway.[]
ScottyDog Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 Hi Guys, Thanks for the replys. The car was registered as a 51 plate. One of the last registered classics I believe. Could it of been the original dealer that done it to help sell it? Could I go to a dealer with the vin no and ask for the original spec of the car? Regards Scott
philip_wilson Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 The only thing change and was done by certain UK dealers only was PPP f.o.c on pre reg cars. First I've heard about Brembo 4-pot and STi intercoolers factory fitted on a classic, saying that I wish mine had would save a small fortune.
