coulty Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Dave means it is ok to fit it without a remap. Got one myself so i know its ok too.
craig mac Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Peter Bhp D are fitting it this weekend bud, and am getting mine set up by AndyF as he is tweaking my map on Thursday anyways. Craig
fai17 Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 If i get it fiited without a remap...where do i set the boost level and such likes.??
drb5 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 It's perfectly fine to fit it without a remap. Read the manual, make sure the gears are NOT set to learn gear and turn the duty up to max, with your desired boost level set through the rev range. PM me if you get stuck and i'll try and advise a bit better.
AlanG Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 and turn the duty up to max, with your desired boost level set through the rev range. I would start at a low duty and increase it until you hit your target boost pressure....
andrew_forrest Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 You need to know the boost profile your engine has been mapped to, then replicate it with the AVC-R. This however will give you no gains over the original map as you will just achieve the same level. Ideally it needs to be mapped to benefit from the extra features within the AVC-R such as per-gear boost control and adjustable feedback loop speed. Not really a DIY task on your spec of engine in my opinion. Andy
fai17 Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 Thanks Andy...you have just made up my mind for me....Cheers I'll get you a beer or burger next time i see you.

Ihave it set this way and although it probably isn't the most efficient, it works well in an easy to explain situation and until Andy gets his paws on it. lol

gogsie Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I got mine fitted first before going down to see Andy. Wallace did the basic set up as I only had Jap manual. I left it like that till Andy did the map and set it up for me. If you run with it basic set up you run on reduced boost but It meant I had it fitted already (takes about 3 hours) so Andy just had to set it. Was going to put it on self learn the next day but Andy pointed out that is wasn't a good idea, if fact his advice was Noooooooooooo Stooooooop! It could have resulted in massive overboost!! Spent a bit of time reading the manual and reading the manual is good advice! You know how it goes - Guys don't need manuals. But in this case defo. Left mine as per Andy's set up. Going to adjust duty cycle for knockhill.- want to try a bit more boost in 2nd and 3rd. Gogs
