scoobymark Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 On way home tonight my DV 12 dump valve stopped dumping air[8-)] checked connections out and all ok, so gave it full revs when going up the gears and it dumped air with a load pop / backfire from exhaust. it worked for a while but was not as loud as usual, then stopped working again. any suggestions? it is only 4 months old
Spaceman Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 i had one on my 05 wrx mate and tbh it was pash after bout 3 months or so. leakin air when driving along normal and not dumpin either also noticed that i was losing loads of oil with it. dunno what you can do bout it but it ditched mine and bout a xs power one from WUZ. Hes a top bloke give him a shout and see if he can point you in the right direction. oh and the xs one never mnisses a beat and iv stopped losin oil. and its louder lol. greig
WHITEUK Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 should dump valves be stripped+lubed at intervals? if so how often,as i was worried about my one lately? J
fai17 Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Bin it and get a new one........HKS..XS..Forge[]...Turbosmart are all good
bigdavie Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 we dont all have your kinda cash tho pedro mate !!
scoobymark Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 Quote strip it and lube it mate ?? where does the lube go, it looks like a one piece unit [8-)] what kinda lube? no smart answers please!
Gumball Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 lube whit? Take it off and uncsrew it. Have a loof inside then blow any stuff out, before putting it back on. There could be soemthing not opening inside or such like. Put if back onto the intercooler and try and drive it. If that doesnt work, then in my experience your going to have to take it back to the dealer and hope they exchange it. or get a new one. FORGE isnt too expensive and works well. If you do have the cash then i would get an HKS SSQV
WUZ Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Bin the Baileys...................seriously! RIGHT NOW! Idle issues and leaking on boost are all on their way to your car very soon with this kind of Dump Valve! 2nd-hand forge for your car will cost you around 60 pounds. Hardly earth-shattering in price. If this seems too much for you...........you've bought the wrong kind of car! Russell
JamesF Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Take it back to wherever you got it from and demand a refund and then use that cash to buy a Forge one, shouldn't be much, if any, of a difference.
hammy Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 wuz i have had one on for 4 months now and none of the above.
fai17 Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Quote wuz i have had one on for 4 months now and none of the above. You are one of the lucky ones then[]
JamesF Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Big Time ! Used to have one and after about 3 months I was sick of the ECL coming on due to it leeking under boost and off it for that matter [:@]
irish al Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Same here, had a baileys and it started leaking. Fitted an HKS SSQV which was great. Sold it and wish I hadnt. Al

scoobymark Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 Spotted in the for sale section a turbosmart vee port dump valve for 100 quid. is this type any good and is it louder than baileys dv12
Gumball Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 yeah thats a decent valve as well. you do realise that potentially your better just selling the one you have and putting the standard one back on?
mrs. jc scoob Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Just bought myself a HKS SSQV from Ebay £180 all in and its brand new quite good price I think have seen them for £280 on Ebay before []
st3ph3n Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Good price! I got mine for pretty much that (£165+£15 postage I think) from an ebay shop in the USA. Took less than a week to arrive, marked as a gift so no customs, and has been on for about a year now. It's the business.
mrs. jc scoob Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 This may be of interest to you http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HKS-SEQUENTIAL-BLOW-...1QQcmdZViewItem
