baser999 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 bttt........come on people, only just over a fortnight to go so lets get our act together and decide if we're going to run up to Norwich as KENT SCOOBIES or have our convoy dictated to by Essex SC; travel there under our own banner and we can stop as and when WE want. We'll be parking up and then convoying around the city with everyone else, its just the journey there that we need to decide on.

Dalthegooner Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 As the only people to express an opinion have said to travel up as Kent Scoobies then lets just say thats what we're doing. Now its just down to someone to post times and meeting places [Y]
Nudge Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 OK everyone heres my suggestion for meeting up Meet @ the Wharf 2:30 leaving 2:45 Then over to Thurrock services to meet some of the ESC @ 3:00 leaving 3:15 Finally off to Boreham interchange (Chelmsford) A12/A130 BP garage forecourt to meet up with the rest of the ESC @ 4:45 leaving on the dot 5:00 for Norwich I reckon if were travelling up as kent scoobies , go with Ians original meeting and leaving time at the wharf it will give more time for stops on route..
shiralee Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Now car is fixed and I can brake safely..I want to come...just need to check with whats happening at wok so will confirm Monday if thats ok!!![]
baser999 Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Well if we are going to run as Kent Scoobies why stop at Thurrock? If we stop there we'll end up chatting to the Essex crowd and then leaving with them which rather defeats the object. Is there nowhere perhaps halfway where we could stop to refuel cars and people and avoid the Essex pitstops altogether....in other words do it all by ourselves. Imho it would look good to arrive at Norwich as KENT SCOOBIES rather than lost among the Essex lot and perhaps we'd then get recognition for attending this event as a club. Oh well thats my thoughts on the matter......let the debate begin []
granby Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 Chill out Barry, if were going as Kent Scoobies then we won't be stopping at Thurrock and the Boreham interchange, we will also probably be leaving slightly later [Y] now take a chill pill and stop worrying about going with the ESC []
SCOOBYTOO Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Ian. If we go up om our own we can go the way we came back last time which was a lot quicker. no nead to cut accross country this time just go direct[Y] I supose we could sort the route out between us and print off some maps for people like BARRY[] Can sort route out with you when your ready[O]

Nudge Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I noticed on the esc forum bout this....... they are asking for a minium donation of 5 pound per car, as us lot are running as a club....[Y]... are we going to continue with this option, as nobody has mentioned this at all. I for one dont mind wacking in a fiver for this cause as long as everyone else goes for it.....[] Wot you boys and girls reckon.

I for one dont mind wacking in a fiver for this cause as long as everyone else goes for it.....[] Wot you boys and girls reckon. Seem to recollect that someone collected this money from us at Macros last year although I have no idea who they were - in return we were given a small Pudsey poster that had to be displayed to show we were part of the official convoy. In the circumstances it wouldn't matter whether we travel as Kent Scoobies or part of the Essex club, this is still collected by way of your donation.
Nudge Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Thanks for clearing that up for us baser....[Y]
kaan_ors Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I must admit that I feel a bit guilty as using this event as an excuse for a bit of a giggle. I would feel much better if I could throw some money at the problem which will in turn help me to feel better about myself. I've noticed that you can buy T-shirts (although I have noticed how choosey some of you can be about t-shirts! []) from the Children in Need online shop http://www.bbcshop.com/invt/198153&bklist=icat,3,,217 If anyones interested perhaps we could order a few and save on the P&P.
Nudge Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Hey guy's and gal's, whats the shedule for the evening, i know we all meet up in Norwich, have a gentle cruise through the town......park up...collect loads a dosh.[Y] Then dance round the car park in granny's best floral frock and dark laddered tights wearing a blue rinse wig, singing "knees up muvver brown" ............................................... Oops no..wrong event......[:$] then wot..?.
