Stevie G Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Hello everyone, After nearly six years of trouble free motoring my Scoobie has developed a hicup.Intermitant power loss after acceleration and stalling when coming up to junctions. The check engine light does not come on, and the problem only happens once every ten minutes or so. Apart from that, she runs and pulls great, with no funny noises from the engine area. A friend suggested the air flow meter could be at fault, anybody got any other ideas. Secondly, can anyone recommend a garage near to the Glasgow area that has some knowledge in dealing with subaru's Thanks
st3ph3n Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Try Halleys in Milngavie and see if they can stick it on the diagnostics machine for you. I'm sure someone with a clue will be along in a minute who will diagnose the problem over t'internet for you though. What model is it too?
dougster Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Idle Control Valve or coil packs? If it's pulling OK and showing no CEL it doesn't sound like MAF failure cause it should go into limp mode if it was. What model is it?
Stevie G Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 It's an MY97, Terzo. The engine just completely dies, but as soon as i've come to a stop, i turn the key and it starts no problem, and drives away as if nothing has happend. Quite annoying especially on the motorway.
