Alan-G Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Heres a better picture of me new scooby.
vicki Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Looks amazing [] ps Hello Jen and Welcome []
darryl_martin Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Quote One question though, how on earth does it take Alan over 1 hour to 'scoot' down for some shopping at the shop just down the road, only used to take 10 mins.......[] Probably just driving really slowly to run the engine in[] lol. Definitely sounds like the first mod should be a nice exhaust, blitz, afterburner, firestorm should wake the neighbour no probs[]
Alan-G Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Would I need the full system or just a back box mate?
Alan-G Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 I really like the afterburner one. click here : http://videos.streetfire.net/recentvideos/...839007bbcd9.htm

Alan-G Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Thanks, that was great. Trimmed budget, (Scottish tight ar$ed git that I am), what is the cheap method of growling up the WRX? -pause- Sorry, but I had to laugh just there. A neighbour, who I dont know, took the most unusual route around the crescent. He NEVER goes that way, and was staring at my WRX. His is about the 1998 version and sounds really Beefy! which is great! I think he maybe owns an Indian resturaunt, my favourite food BTW. Whats that all about?
st3ph3n Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 If he's not in the club then let him know. The more the merrier. Plus discounts at restaurants are always welcome [] Cheapest way is to get a second hand backbox of some sort. That increases the growl, but is fairly warranty friendly as it's easy to swap back.
Alan-G Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Quote If he's not in the club. I surely think he knows he's not pregnant mate [] Why second hand though st3ph3n?
st3ph3n Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Cheaper 2nd hand really. This is what I have - http://www.haywardandscott.com/Details.asp...amp;category=13 - fitting is a 5 minute job at a garage with a ramp and wouldn't cost much obviously.
z1000 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I just bought a full decat system for £350 second hand so you should get a backbox for under £150
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Would this fit ok? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Imprezza-turb...1QQcmdZViewItem
craigwrx Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Yes that would fit mate, i also have the Prodrive backbox but it's not very loud ...shortly changing. It does add a "growl and bark" but probably one of the quietest aftermarket back boxes available.
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 So is that a no-no then ? I woke up today a bit grumpy so went out for a spin for ½ an hour. AAAhhhhhh ! Much better ..
peter_macgowan Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Hey Alan nice car. I just had the afterburner and centre section fitted to my car last week. It brings back the burble. Its pretty quiet on tickover. But when you open it up it sounds real good. Did not think the burble would come back on 06 but it did.
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Can someone have a look at this exhaust and advise please. Thanks in advance. Alan.
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Sorry, here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-impreza-turbo...1QQcmdZViewItem
darryl_martin Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Haven't seen a backbox off a MY06 but I'm fairly sure the front mounting points are on one side for classics and the other for newages. So strictly speaking I think it would fit, but you'd only be able to use the rear hanger as the one near the front wouldn't line up. Personally I'd wouldn't bother trying to get a box off a classic to fit a newage, there are plenty of newage ones about.
st3ph3n Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 That is a new age backbox though. Should fit ok.
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Thanks a lot for that mate. Any chance of a look at this and if it's any good ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-Stain...1QQcmdZViewItem More importantly is that will it fit a 56 plate WRX?
Alan-G Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Rapidly running out of time so I have bid for it and am the highest bidder. It Physically looks the same bracket outlay as whats on my car but if it turns out that I win it and its wrong then I suppose I will just have to re-sell it.
