4Hero Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Good afternoon, I'm booked into Magma in Bathgate on saturday to get some tints and wondered which ones to go for. I've never had them before but am looking from something pretty dark on the back 3 windows. Will 50% be enough or should I go darker (I haven't got a clue about these things []) My car is (will be) black if this helps. Thanks in advance []
WRC No 1 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 hi m8 dont do the front windows u are just puting tint on tint. for the back go for the limo tint [] wullie
allan_browne Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I got the "limo" tint on my WRX, looks quite good, not too dark and not too light, goes well with silver car.[] Cheers..
vicki Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hiya Here's a wee photo of mine with 50% on the back and 25% on front [] http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f363/vic...rezaSiver-1.jpg
4Hero Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 nice one Vicki, now I know what 50% looks like [] I'm going to leave the front standard but might go a bit darker that 50% on the back after seeing your photo. Anyone got any photos of limo tints on the back? Thanks, Neil.

wrxmania Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 A VERY slippery slope - modifications and it has not even been delivered yet [] Here is my old car with Dark Smoke at the rear (Pentagon in Stirling fitted them). Tried to find a variety in a range of light conditions (and states off mods):
PECO Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Welsho - I thought you said you were happy with your car! Tints next? Would look good though..................
4Hero Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 thanks for your replies everyone, I never thought about reversing if I was to go for the limo tints [] I may go for something inbetween 50% and limo then. thewelsho Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Welsho - I thought you said you were happy with your car! Tints next? Would look good though.................. Na, not for me, not at this point anyway. I think it would look awesome on Neil's new car though, seeing its a black Hawkeye, drooool! I'd tint the lot! My next mod I think will be PPP, but that is a L-O-N-G way off! Though I said that about wheels and suspension... J
PECO Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 The PPP on the 2.5 WRX gives fantastic gains, STI beating performance on a WRX. Window tints on your car would look well smart! It never ends...............
st3ph3n Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 My next mod I think will be PPP, but that is a L-O-N-G way off! Though I said that about wheels and suspension... J PPP = Waste of money. For the same dosh you can get plenty more horses, and a much nicer sound. Oh and my car with £400 worth of exhuast mods was 3-1 against CraigWRX who has PPP at Crail. Craig can drive, and we were both getting similar launches and reaction times, so either he was pussying about changing gears (admittedly he missed third once) or I was getting more top end grunt.

Granted, perhaps, though your car is the 2.0 isn't it? Accoring to PECO, there appears to be greater gains with the 2.5, though I am utterly out of my league! Not interested in exhaust mods, cats will have to stay in the interest of my keeping within the law. Re-mapping invaidates the warranty, so what other choices do I have? When you consider the cost of PPP (£1700) and what else could be acheived, then maybe it is a waste of money.
st3ph3n Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 2.5 just gives you an extra half litre to play with. Turbo back system with just a sports cat (still legal with that) would be about £600. £100 for an Upipe. £500 for a remap. Maybe another £70 for a fuel pump. You'd get near 300bhp and 300lb/ft of torque with that on a 2.5 I'd imagine. Yes the warranty does kind of go out the window, but it's easy enough to get it back to standard should issues occur. If you do go down the power route then weigh up the options carefuly, because there's some people out there with PPP who are regretting buying it (some got it free mind you) and wanting more. Consult someone with more sense than me for a start. []
RS Grant Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 If you want further info on PPP and the options available to you, try giving Russ (Mako) @ Eden a call... He'll keep you right regarding warranty/PPP/gains to be had for your money... [] 01334 657400 Russell Stewart [] Cheers, Grant
fai17 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Totally agree with slim on this one[]..best to buy the parts yourself and get God to do the remap.. Goto Meerkat for a Catted Snakehead and 3"system about £680 fitted Goto Greersport for Bosch fuel pump and colder plugs about £200 fitted Goto Greersport for uppipe about £130 fitted Goto AndyF for remap about £580 mapped Total £1580 = loads of fun on the road and about 300/310 PS. and a CAI is you like them[]
