prodrive tony Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Hi, this garage has issues. Car's water is bubbling out of overflow in wing. They forgot to connect fan connector on rad and now ive reconnected it is has lit up the check engine light?? I thought this would cure the boiling water but its still boiling up?? Cant see fan on, what the fu*k has he done now?? Any help on reset or cures so I can use the car till hes back Monday. Im seriously fuming now.
Dalthegooner Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I don't believe your luck mate. You need to go down there and rip him a new ar*ehole!!! [:@]
granby Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 To reset the ECU you need to disconnect the battery for about 1 hour
darryl_martin Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Unbelievable mate. I know you've clearly spent a lot of money there, and rightly so you want the job done and finished but I'd be seriously thinking about taking it somewhere else, and I'd be having doubts this guy knows what he's doing!!!!! Hope you get sorted (properly) soon
prodrive tony Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 Ive tried ecu reset for an hour, lights coming still on. Cant see fan working at all but its not getting to hot driving about? Wounder if he left it off on purpose??
Dalthegooner Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I'd say that its a certainty that he left the plug off on purpose. Its to much of a coincidence that the one thing he left off brings the check engine light on. I reckon that its because he aint got a clue about scoobies personally.
HOL Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Is the overflow still bubbling, even though the car is not overheated?
prodrive tony Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Yes mate as soon as i turn car off its bubbling and overflowing. The heaters are not warming up either now. Airlock anyone?? Ive looked and rad fan is working.
imprezyou Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Tony i agree it sounds like an air lock mate i had the same trouble with mine, only after the top hose was disconnected for a new hose. Blow it threw with a hose and water threw the top smaller hose, also please can you post the name and address of the said buissness you have had all this trouble with SO WE CAN ALL STAY AWAY FROM HIM ! if you want i`l come down with you tuesday and we can both tell him what a prat he is ! hes defo messed with something. Hope you problems get sorted mate and do yourself a favour change that garadge.
Deano 666 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Yes mate as soon as i turn car off its bubbling and overflowing. The heaters are not warming up either now. Airlock anyone?? Ive looked and rad fan is working. hi tony, turn your heater temp dial to the hotest setting, take the top hose off from the rad end, fill hose with water, take your pressure cap off of the main coolant reservoir , and keep filling the hose up slowly, put your ear to the reservoir and you will hear the water glugging down, keep filling untill you reach the top of the reservoir, refit hose to rad, run engine and top up coolant, re fit pressure cap, run engine untill fan cuts in and out (keep an eye on temp gauge) hope this will help you. Dean.
prodrive tony Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 Nice one Dean, I'll try this tomorrow. Having problems starting now as well?? Turns over for about 30/60 secs before firing up to the smell of petrol. It also idles at 1300 revs, so im gonna have to bite the bullit and shell out with one of these recommended garages. Cheers Dean.
leon Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 to reset ecu connect he green and black connectors under the steering wheel ............well thats wat you do on a my99 then go for a drive until the check engine light comes on and it should be flashing on off at reguarly intervals if its flashing at weird intervals then its a ecu fault code jot them down and check on scoobynet to wat they mean
prodrive tony Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 Thanks mate. Im not naming and shaming. Lets say im going opposite Brands 2mo for sorting out again!!!
