imprezyou Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I am thinking about haveing a set of tein coil overs with an edfc unit fitted, do you think there is much use for the edfc unit or what other coil over sets do you recommend? i am running on koni dampers and eibach springs at the mo and find after switching to 18 `s its to god dame low, cornering is a mare and i am getting lots of rubbing on the rear. Your comments and suggestions please.
granby Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 First thoughts are you have wheels with the wrong offset or the wrong size tyres
Wee Jock Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Changing your suspension wont stop your tyres from rubbing unless you turn it into a monster Scoob! As the "Rain Man [li] " says sounds like your combination is too big for your arches now!
imprezyou Posted August 20, 2006 Author Posted August 20, 2006 The suspension was dropped by 45mm before these wheels went on , this set up does not allow ride height adjustmet and i only need a few extra mill , so i am hopeing that changeing to a ride height adjustable will resolve the problem, i do have the right tyre and correct offset as its been checked by my tyre shop, it only just touches the outta part of the arch when really cornering really hard.
Wee Jock Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Sounded like you had a good setup b4! Would it not be cheaper just to get new springs 5mm larger than the ones you have now?
tony_cousins Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Go the full hog and get the Tein [Y] You can go as low as you want and when a speed bump comes up you just raise it a little and carry on [] Seen the unit in action and it really is worth every penny as you can have four programmed settings and still be able to adjut for individual requirements too [] Tony[H]
deani_age Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Don't get HKS Hyper D's, well not if you value your teeth.
deani_age Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Not many Kent Scooby members are. Although I'm clearly not the oldest. And yes I do still have all my own teeth, well most of them anyway. Don't think I'll be saying this for much longer if I keep driving the RA on the road.
tony_cousins Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Lol dentures on the way then huh Gramps []
