euan_r Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 i ve used in the past (car has too many scratches the noo to worry) does leave paint a lot smoother to the touch. dont use often though and keep wet
philip_wilson Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 there was a post the other week about this with a link on Q&A's
scoobyfuzzy Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 yeah u get that spray stuff with it. keep the clay bar wet? fuzzy
bigdavie Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 keep it soaked wi the detailer and you will be amazed how much sh!t it lifts off the paint !! remember and wax it straight after though to make the most of your hard graft !! keep it away from the black rubbers tho ! good luck !!
scoobyfuzzy Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 cheers davie, gonna get some of it n hopefully get it done during the week, mayb post up a pic of thye outcome. fuzzy
wrxmania Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Meguiars Quick Clay - around £10, comes with clay bar and detailing spray - done the Primera (black car) and the wife's Rav4 (silver). Great product easy to use and let's you do the next stage. Followed this up with a coat (or two) of Klasse/Carlack 68 AIO and then several coats of your favourite wax (used Meguiars NXT on the RAV4 and Poorboys Blue & Swissol on the Primera). Worth it. Black rubbers clean up no problem afterwards as long as you don't hammer them with sticky clay and you use a silicon cleaner of some kind to "do them up later". Well worth the effort - you can clay bar a car quickly in an hour - proper job on bad paint will take a couple of hours. I buy all my stuff from http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk - a Scottish company, great service and great guides on their site. Brian []
scoobyfuzzy Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 yeah brian was looking on there website earlier for the stuff, probably get a few other products from them aswell fuzzy

Lovat Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I've used t to take some pretty rough muck off the P1 - it does a great job.
scoobyfuzzy Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 well recieved the clay bar yesterday, so i went n tried it on the motor after i finished work, wasnt that impressed with the stuff. yeah it made ma paint work feel a lot smoother, but didnt take away all the marks i was expecting it to, got some paint overspray on ma boot lid, didnt make any difference, got some like tar marks on the rear aswell, took away some of the small ones, didnt do that well with the bigger bits, got a bit of the claybar left so im gonna spend a bit more time on it, see if i can get the bigger bits off, but this is quite a mild bar, mayb have to us a different grade. didnt polish it of wax it as im gonna be using the clay bar on it again, will let u know how i get on second time round. fuzzy
darryl_martin Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Try warming the clay bar a bit first. If it's a hot day I leave it on the dashboard in the sun while I wash the rest of the car, or stick it on a radiator for a few minutes. They become a lot more sticky and pliable. When you've finished with itleave it in an airtight bag as the clay can dry out. I've got mine in a sandwich bag[Y]
