BIG POP??

Hi peeps.....Driving normally through gears car went pop like a huge back fire and cut out!! Now runs poo and hardly drives more crawls? Any suggestions?? Heeelp im reaching for the matches, the next time my car see's petrol it will be wearing it!!

Been told its throttle sensor so hopefully 2mo with a new one were sorted? Its reading full throttle on start up so now wont start. When it was driving it was getting richer as it warmed up?? Sound familar?

Got my new dvla documents today so J555PAN is going on as well as some replica wr1 alloys next week. Keep the faith and mod it more I say!!

I had this the other night. It was a boost hose that came off so the maf was not seeing the right amount of air as the flow was interupted.

The car would restart, but felt like it had 10bhp.

Ok, no visable airleaks, maf changed no better, throttle sensor changed no better. Getting a very lumpy engine and no more than 2000 revs max. Very black sooty exhaust smoke?? Getting fuel pressure checked has a new walbro pump?? Thanks.

Intercooler hose or something similar, it has happened to me three times exact same symptoms!

Blokes changed everything now and come to conclusion its ECU??  If anyones got a spare for sale or borrow let me know?? Dont really wanna change it and its no better. Thanks peeps.

i would check the hoses to make sure there isnt a leak, becuase under normal idle the hoses wont expand but with some boost the hoses could expand and there could be a slight hole or crack on the hoses, get a boost gauge and tell us a reading

Thanks mate, it would idle ok though mate wouldnt it??.  It hardly runs, cuts out and i have have a very black sooty exhaust??

You have black suity smoke because you have popped a hose, too much air getting into the car, maf sees this then dumps extra fuel in hence the black smoke! As long as its black smoke its nothing major!

Got an ECU thats of same car as mine and already chipped ....Result.

No mate, waiting for ecu fitting on monday. Probably make no difference. At least the ecu's chipped if it doesnt cure it.
