flat4phil Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Looking for confirmation before I blurt out on another forum on the subject of Rolling Road runs. I understood that the correct procedure requires the tyre pressure to be increased (as noted on the printout) - just wondered with so many on here with experience of dyno's and RR's if this is considered good practice - as so far, I appear the only numpty who has taken any note of this. I thought it was necessary due to the rolling resistance of the rollers?
wrxmania Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Never been done at any R/R session I have been at and never heard the engineers mention it should be done. Brian []
ANDYJDMSTI Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 When i had mine done i just let them strap the t@rt down and cane it! []

ali37 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 When we had the RR shootout about 6 weeks ago at Japerformance every car had their tyre pressures adjusted before the run and put back to normal when finished. As it was my first RR run I didn't think much about it at the time.
colin_ross Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Does it not have something to do with the style of rollers? Single drum ones are not as sensitive but the more common twin drum ones have a tendancy to "pinch" the tyres and that can add friction and give a false reading. Or am I just talking out my @rse as usual?
