McRae in action at the X-Games rally

He was on for the win but rolled his car on the super special in the stadium and lost by half a second.

The guy that won - Travis Pastrana, who competes in the American Rally series for Subaru of America (cars prepared by Vermont Sports Cars of DC Shoes gumball cars fame) is a bit of a legend. He also competes in the Freestyle Motorcross (where he made his name) at the X Games where he also cleaned up with an array of backflips and other feats of insanity, yet again. He's a pretty talented kid, and he likes his scoobs so it's all good.

Jalopnik - the site I found it on - is a great read. I have it subscribed in my RSS read. Full of car news with an interesting perspective. The site doesn't take itself seriously so there's always good videos, funny stories etc.

Enjoyed that.  Really wish he would get a drive with one of the top teams in WRC again. In a Subaru would be even better.

Dont think there are any drivers on the World Rally that are always on the edge like Colin, and provide such entertainment!

Legend is a strong word. But in this case not strong enough.

He didn't even stop for a second to have a think after the roll.

I was reading a diary one of the other drivers was writing - Ken Block that owns DC Shoes - and he was saying how much himself and Pastrana were learning from McRae during the practice days then the rally.

Does anyone know if the X-Games rally is to be shown on TV over here?

The X Games as a whole will probably get aired on Five and Eurosport and maybe Extreme TV if you have it.

Ive been on holiday in Florida for two weeks so managed to catch the rally part when i was out there, hats off the McRae, top effort and it looked like a peach!
