col666 Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 9 red flags in the first hour and an astra upside down in the first 60 seconds on his 2nd corner! Apart from a couple of golfs and a very nice M roadster it was more like cowdenbeath racewall[] []
kloon Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Nae like you to attract accidents Col [] Quality pics as ever mate []
Guest greegsy Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Great pics Col !!! That's my mate Gibi who owns the M roadster. He was brave taking it out last night with all those numpties on track although he did have a wee spin at the hairpin right enough
STi_Bandit Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Some great pics there col, looks like there was some antic out on track [] Martin
col666 Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Thats exactly what i thought. He actually made it worse for himself by not pulling over when a nutter came up behind him. I would have been straight out of the way[]
RA Dunk Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 cool wee buggy thing in the last pic was it quick?
col666 Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 There were 2 on track, Fireblade engines in them I think. Both are seriously quick and look excellent fun.
Guest greegsy Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 The 2 golfs were good to watch. Both have 20 valve turbo audi engines. The red one is putting out about 290bhp!!! Not sure about the blue golf to be honest but it was still really really quick.
RA Dunk Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Quote There were 2 on track, Fireblade engines in them I think. Both are seriously quick and look excellent fun. yea they look like fun wouldent mind a wee shottie of one just to see how it goes though []
nicholas_frame Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Was my neighbour who rolled the red astra - and to think I let him drive the scoob during JOG!!!!!!! Although he said it was on lap 8 I'm inclined to believe Col. Funny thing is that we were joking during the week that he'd roll down duffus and he did. lol Excellent pictures as usual - 15/10!!!
wrxmania Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 That golf looks "Pure Magic" - very clean. Brian []
oz *sti* Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Great pic's as always col [Y] I see you have not lost your touch with there being an accident when you are there, what that 3 out of 3 now? []
fraser_allan Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Col, any picks of my mates Clio, the beat up silvery blue one? cheers Fraz.
gus the bus Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Col, I'm inclined to believe it was Cowdenbeath mate[] A few nice cars i with a pile of sh*t. Hot hatch day? Good pics as always tho mate[Y] Gus
col666 Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Fraz, Which clio was that? the silver 172 sport race car? The only other one was blue with yellow stickers, bit of a heap! Tyresqueal, I think he's telling porkies[] unless his astra can do 8 laps in under 2mins!
st3ph3n Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Col, you get your restraining order through for the 19th yet? I jest. Great pictures as always. Will be looking forward to any you catch of mine (with 4 wheels on the track please) on the trackday.
col666 Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Think I will go in disguise! All you guys will be crawling past me otherwise[] As I spend loads of time at KH and have seen hundreds of cars lapping I reckon I have a very good knowledge of the track even though I have never driven on the new surface- Seat Curves(duffus) seems to the biggest problem corner, the new surface allows greater entrance speed but the problem is people swinging the car back to the left to get the line for Scotmans.Swinging it left while the car is trying to go right makes the rear very light therefore causing the car to spin and usually go into the gravel sideways and probably onto its roof[] I have been passenger with Iain Forrest in the pace car and he says there is no real need to swing so far over just keep it straight and keep it tight round the sharp right of scotmans. The chicane doesnt seem to cause as many probs now, the exit used to catch a lot out but seems to be a lot grippier now. Clarks, the tight uphill blind right is still a tricky one. The gravel trap has been moved right to the edge of the kerb so if you run even a little bit wide your going to have a bumpy ride, just keep it flat and you should go through ok, ease off and you'll dig into gravel and probably spin ending up across the track on the exit of a blind bend! not good! Hairpin is a bit wider and grippier so no probs there unless your brakes fail[] Have fun!![]
jcscoob Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Col, there are great piks yet again, lovin this one [y]... [h]
