col666 Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 In the last week or so i have noticed the car hesitating on and off while cruising at approx 3000rpm. It feels like i am pushing the accelerator down then lifting off every second but my foot is steady on the throttle. Very noticable, can feel my head going back and forward like I am on a boat. Its also become quite jerky on and off throttle in traffic. Could this be a MAF fault?
drb5 Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Sounds more like spark plugs or leads. If you disconnect the MAF sensor, the engine SHOULD stall, although i have had an engine keep running, even with a brand spankin new MAF fitted. Give it a try anyway.
col666 Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Had new quality leads fitted when new engine was put in, I assume they also replaced the plugs.
dipsy Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Col 666 is it a trip to Awd for you to get car checked over??
drb5 Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 It's worth sticking a new set of plugs in there, just to cancel the option out and the OE spark leads are actually known to be the best tbh.
rabskyline Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 mine was doing this and changed my plugs today ! sorted it right out !
col666 Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Will call AWD in the morning and see what they reckon. Cheers for the help!
