slo2 Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Does any one out there have / or know where I can get (preferably for free) software that allows you to remove the vocals from CD tracks or MP3 . I know that Mp3 files might be a problem. Need this for the kids as they are doing a show at the weekend and I cant find a Karaoke version of the required songs.

John, Tried many examples of said software and it's all pretty crappy. Have you tried going into the Big W or music stores and buying actual CD Karaoke backing tracks? Obviously they don't provide on-screen lyrics etc. but are basically CD backing tracks and pretty good. What songs do you need? The US Walmart site used to do a good selction as well at 88c per song. Need a US CC though, however, I have an American friend (co-pilotong on Thursday) who has an account at Wallies, so if you can get a list to me of what you need, I'll see what I can do. John
slo2 Posted August 2, 2006 Author Posted August 2, 2006 Cheers boys, Have down loaded some free software and after several hours of frustration I managed to reduce the vocals to 10 % so mostly achieved what i wanted. Will see you of Thursday nite (John,)may have a list of tracks but wont know if my stuff is good enough untill 2morrow.[]
craigwrx Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 This software is open source, and therefore free, site also contains some good info : http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s...i=remove-vocals
