Roadrunner Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 1) best reasonably priced tyres? 215/35/18 are needed I think! 2) good place to get a cam belt change in North west? do I need both belts changed? (only just learnt there are 2!) Dealer has quoted £220 but will do some discount cos he said he doesnt see too many girl drivers and I asked nicely! Local performance garage has quoted £270 plus vat for both belts??? Could dealer price be for one belt only, have i understood right, theres the main one then a little one too? 3) can anyone recommend a good wheel refurb place in north west? Thanks in advance for any help, i tried doing a search but this ends up with me being more confused than ever! So many opinions!
warby Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 1. Dont go for a reasonable tyre. 2. Prosport, may be more expense but the job will be done proper. 3. PM Rasher about alloys.
darryl_martin Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 You could have a look at www.mytyres.co.uk then you just need to find someone to fit them. I was charged about £7 a tyre for fitting. Blackcircles is another site.
Roadrunner Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 1. Dont go for a reasonable tyre. ok but which ones then?
Little H Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Toyo, Pirrelli and heard good reports of the new Yoko's as well
Roadrunner Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 Toyo, Pirrelli and heard good reports of the new Yoko's as well Think Im gonna go for Toyo, bit obvious I know but I had some Yokos on last car and didnt like them much, but was prob just me! Thanks for offerings of advise!
dave_thorbinson Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I've got Toyo Proxes on my classic (17" wheels). They seem to wear quite quickly, but I'd certainly buy them again. Good grip (wet or dry), and quite quiet too. As for Prosport... That's the only place mine will be going to from now on!
Jenni Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Hi Claire, I bought my current Yoyo tyres from 'my tyres' (link above) and then paid to have them fitted - I found this to be much cheaper.
