  1. http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/ Thought some of you guys here may like to sign up to this petition! Pass it on if you support it!
  2. Hello and Thanks! I didnt get your name, but thank you very much to the chap with the type RA, that took me out on the track! Was a brilliant drive, totally gobsmacked by it, and I thought you were absolutely brilliant for taking me, a complete stranger, out on the track! Its cheered me right up, since some recent bad scoob experiences! and loved your car. Hope you come on here, and hope you see this cos I didnt get chance to say thanks before I left. Was an alround brilliant day, but all my extremities are still chilly! Shame the light went! oh and shame you didnt get chance to go out with the slicks on! Seriously, big thank you, was very kind of you, and very much appreciated! Clare x x
  3. Obviously I shall still be carless for tatton, but if I have anything to do with it, ill have a new car for the month afters meet for you to look at!
  4. Update - assessors have unofficially said is a write off, my insurance has accept liability on my behalf, now then, what to buy next????? Thanks for all the nice messages, helped cheer me up no end.
  5. I have 4 18in prodrive wheels from my sti, two brand new tyres, two still v legal tyres, for sale as soon as the insurance company let me have the car back, some scuffs and painted grey to match the car, so will be going cheap.
  6. You got a better one with the insurance money? Brilliant hope mine works out like that! Pulley casing thing is broken in two, so im guessing its an engine rebuild and therfore gonna get written off. Gonna get it back and strip it, so there will be some very nice sti bits on sale soon!
  7. My scoob is probably dead. Pulled out in front of a mini bus that was indicating to turn, but then didnt turn, instead plowed straight into the front of my car. Car - bonnet, both front wings, bumper, bits of engine are shunted into wrong place, wont start. Me - bruised, sore, whiplash, sprained bits, sore eyes from crying constantly from noon yesterday till bedtime. The absolutely worse part was watching it get loaded on the truck, thats a sight I never want to see again. Im going for another look at it in a minute, as if I havent cried enough already.
  8. Having just bought a scoob, I can tell you, bet the new owner is made up! and youve got a new one to play with - win win!
  9. Its all so funny I am actually afraid its a set up, but then its probably too obvious for a set up!
  10. "The only way any of their sheds might be a 'Scoobykiller' is if the Impreza drives loses control of his vehicle while incontinent with laughter at Escort vans fitted with bits of scaffolding pipe as exhausts! " This is a quote fromone of the barryboys (who Im not normally a fan of, but a girl can change her mind!) regarding scoobykillers! PMSL!
  11. Oh god Thank you all so much, being a bit new to the scoob, I hadnt come across scoobykillers until this tread - how amazingly funny? Loved most posts - "I beat a scoob in my 1.4 nova" was a particular fave of mine, how? was the scoob parked up? reading a map? Also kinda love the idea that the prats are so jealous that they need a whole forum to talk about it! Bloody brilliant - oh and mental I might be, bald def not! Thug, well only on the weekends when im not busy being a childrens nurse/ health visitor - how much more thuggy could I get? cooing over cutie banbinos for a living!
  12. Im actually getting used to the effect the scoob has on every 1.1 saxo it passes, and really starting to enjoy it all! Like I was told I would!
  13. and whats wrong with a Cav? dont bother saying, I know all about it, got one of them as well as the scoob, try hard to make myself drive it, just takes sooooooooo much will power!
  14. Shockingly good mileage! I was told, right after I bought my scoob!, that you dont own one if you worry about money! Optimax is down to 102p round here!
  15. Was the type R on the right, a luxenburg one then? with the white wheels, noticed you, and even made a small attempt to find the driver, before the beer was opened! Only found 4 type r's in the whole place, mine being one! please come talk to me mr owner, compare notes! Clare (stupid but enthusiastic owner!) x x x
  16. I would use it if anyone else was there, got knocked down by passing dust balls! and meeting place type threads are all locked away from us newbies! I personally would love a proper cads place to chat!
  17. and rather silly imho, its a car not a statement of intention on life! But a bloody lovely car!
  18. Think Im gonna go for Toyo, bit obvious I know but I had some Yokos on last car and didnt like them much, but was prob just me! Thanks for offerings of advise!
  19. Dont be soft! My choice of car hasnt dropped my IQ or changed my personality! Get one, get one!
  20. As it happens I went on Scoobynet for a good look round last night. As a newbie, I was put off bothering with the place within a few threads. Im sure some of the threads I read would have been funnier if Id known the people involved and understood the context, but as a newbie, some were down right off putting. And the mods seem to allow offensive and abusive language, as an ickle pickle newbie, who is obviously gonna ask some daft questions, (despite my IQ reading 139) I didnt want to post - sorry state for a club/ forum I would have thought!
  21. Wish I had been braver and come over to say hello to more scooby drivers at JAE, but there were just so many of you, and Im a bit shy! You all seemed to have a good time!
  22. Some other tactics, Ive successfully used once the nice Mr plod has you pulled over at the side of the road include; Big smiles - stage one. Invite him to sit in the car, worry about his knees, while hes kneeling on sill. Show an interest in their car, many that stop you are armed police, ( at least round here they are) and are more than happy to discuss the merits of there v fast cars, and Ive even had a tour of an armed vehicle at the side of the road! (that got me off 43 in a 30 without even a producer!) Distract them, by saying actually Im a little lost, you cant be my hero and give me some directions can you? Ive even offered fresh veg from my allotment once, when I was stopped on the way home from diggin up new fresh pots! All of the above are tried and tested and worked! As for cameras, all you can do is show them your brake lights! ps hope nothing arrives in post mate! Did it flash twice? Ive been flashed once several times, nothing comes of this ever.
