richy_scoob Posted July 28, 2006 Share Posted July 28, 2006 I was driving the other day with my PDA plugged into the cigar lighter, when I realised that it wasn't drawing power any more. I've checked the fuse, and its OK (mirrors still work too). The power adapter I use works fine in our other car's cigar lighter. Not sure what to do next!? I've got a MY99 Classic Turbo. A similar thing happened just before I got rid of my old Golf GTI, but never checked it out. Help! Link to comment
darryl_martin Posted July 28, 2006 Share Posted July 28, 2006 My lighter kept unplugging itself at the back. I took the stereo out, pushed the plug back on, tested it, worked no prob. Put the stereo back in, stopped working. Took out stereo again, plugged it back together.......................... Went through this about 5 times then gave up. I only wanted to use it for my phone in an emergency. Decided I knew what to do if the situation arose[] Link to comment
boris Posted July 29, 2006 Share Posted July 29, 2006 Hi my lighter never worked in my MY98 so i had a look and on the back of the lighter is a blob whick looks like a resistor,mine had broken so i replaced with a piece of wire and its worked fine since. Link to comment
