  1. How do you get into the back of the lighter?
  2. Took mine to Christopher Neil Subaru in Northwich recently - they seemed OK.
  3. I was driving the other day with my PDA plugged into the cigar lighter, when I realised that it wasn't drawing power any more. I've checked the fuse, and its OK (mirrors still work too). The power adapter I use works fine in our other car's cigar lighter. Not sure what to do next!? I've got a MY99 Classic Turbo. A similar thing happened just before I got rid of my old Golf GTI, but never checked it out. Help!
  4. Totally Standard MY99 2000 AWD Turbo, no tracker. Parked on Drive, 26 years old, rural location, 20k miles/yr, 5 yrs ncb. Just got insured by RAC insurance fully comp with protected ncb for an amazing £765! (You get a bit of a discount for being a member of the RAC)
  5. The mirrors and cigarette lighter run of same fuse (behind coin tray).
  6. how do I get my avatar pic approved?
  7. I joined the forum yonks ago when I was first thinking of getting a scooby. Finally made real my dream!
  8. Hi all. Got a me a classic turbo last week (T-reg, totally standard, 45K, Mica Blue). I live in Cheshire, and just thought I'd say hello!
  9. Nah - gonna keep it standard - Can't afford the extra insurance premium that mods bring (had enough of that with my old Golf) - the insurance is steep as it is anyway!!! [8o|]
  10. Yep - although bit worried I may have been caught by a copper with a radar gun yesterday! [:|]
  11. Here are some pics of my new car - picked it up on Friday Rich.
  12. Hi. Picked it up today. My word is it fun. [] Pics coming soon!
  13. I'm defecting from the VW camp (a bit like S11EPS who is a member on here - In fact we're both moderators on www.GolfGTI.co.uk forums!). He he. [*-)] I will post pics when I get it. Cheers for the warm welcome.
  14. Hi - joined a while ago, but just bought my first scooby - a totally standard T-reg 2.0 Turbo impreza with 45K miles on the clock. [] Pick it up wednesday - can't wait!!!
  15. Cheers ... Same for me (insurance-wise). Currently pay just over £600 for a slightly modded golf gti. Was quoted just under a grand for a standard 1999 2.0 Turbo Scooby Saloon. Love golfs, but always been a fan of classic scoobies too. Tophuh (who turned up in this thread earlier) is a fellow golfgti.co.uk regular, like myself. Seems like its not uncommon to go from golf-subaru!
  16. I suppose, similar to your beefed up golf, but not my piddly non turbo! Will be a shame to see my golf go though.
  17. << hmm another golf owner moving over to the dark side.. dont worrt richy, i wont tell the golfgti lads >> lol!!! hi Tophuh! What you doing here?
  18. << I had a Golf before the Scoob (MK2 GTI 16V in Oak Green) was a diamond car...wish I could have kept it, but had to pert ex it against the scoob....what GTi have you got? >> Got a 1999 S-Reg 1.8 non Turbo (125 bhp) Here's a link to a pic my car!
  19. << Have you taken a scoob out for a spin yet? Because if you have nothing will put you off >> Yep. Took a nice one out for a spin on Sunday... Silver 1999 S-Reg 40K on the clock, totally standard. Jesus, I want one now!! 90 more bhp than my little golfy
  20. Yep. Got an insurance quote. Not as bad as I was expecting, considering I'm only 24. Those 4 long years of not claiming must count for something! Cheers.
  21. Hello all! I'm new to this forum (currently got a golf GTI, and normally frequent golfgti.co.uk), but I'm looking at buying a 1999(ish) 4-door turbo Scooby. Is there anything I should look out for in cars this age? Any advice greatly appreciated! Cheers, Rich
