rabskyline Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 there are a couple of stickers on my mirrors and my doors that i want to take off but they are really old and break up up and leave marks. any ideas on what to use to get these off fully ??
thewelsho Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Blasting them with the hairdryer softens them up, then carefully peel them off while still applying heat if required.
craigwrx Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Couple things that normaly work : Heat, use a hair dryer or heat gun, be careful thou not to overheat ur paint work. WD40 or Paint thinners + rag ...then polish afterwards .. Hope this helps []
rabskyline Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 will give this a go but there all crazed and broken up ! i took off the sti ones on the wings as they were fecked too but they were a heavier vinyl . these wee buggers are very thin !
shugo Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Rab the way i do it with motors i buy to punt on is cover the stickers in tar and glue remover then give them a blast with the hair dryer. They then just peel off then aply tar and glue remover to the area where the sticker was to take any crap off then polish . Once a month i coat the hole paint work on my cars with tar and glue remover then polish .
A11YKF Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Try the hair dryer bit to get as much off as possible then see if you can get hold of some stuff called HG Sticker Remover made by a company called Hagesan i got it from a local hardware shop its amazing stuff!
rabskyline Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 will try all of these ! going to braehead shopping (crap) so will venture into halfrauds !
flat4phil Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Anything with orange oil! - Removes grease and sticky residues (no rude thoughts please) and kind to the ol' paintwork.
STi_Bandit Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Park it in halfords, walk into the shop say five mins come back and they will be gone if its anything like my RB realy stickers so if you see a nova with rb stickers in edin you know where he got them. Martin
paulc555 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 If you really stuck......3M make a Graphic removal wheel....its a soft spindle mounted flap brush which removes graphics without damaging the surface below..... Paul
