rabskyline Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 it is coming home on saturday morning but i see it has the heavy duty (typical jap) rough terrain , m+s tyres fitted like a land rover. i will need to change them or do i keep these for the winter and but a new set of nice rims and tyres ?? any suggestions on size, offset, width allowed etc. remember this thing has really wide arches !need to fill'em !
SergeantScooby Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Rab Am no expert but i just put some TOYO - PROXES T1-R, 215/35R18W Reinforced on to my RA, got them at etyres online and got mobile fitting, tyres were 98 each. I did quite a bit of research and seems the toyo is a popular choice, and having used them for a few weeks they feel good. Rims well i like my technomagnesia rims, its down to personal choice i guess, i like the spoked look. Picture shows with old tyres but am sure it will give you an idea hope this helps SS
bigdavie Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 rab i used to have toyo's t-1 and they were good but i much prefer my avon zz3's now mega sticky !! no a bad price either think they were about 70 -75 ish each anyway hope this helps !
rabskyline Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 cheers guys. i might run the rally style stup it has till i see what its like but will want something to fill those arches as they are huuuuugggggeeeeeeee ¬!
the squiggle Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 A nice set of 225 wide tyres sitting on 7 or 7.5 inch wide alloys with 5 mm spacers all round Get shot of the Mud and Snow tyres asap unless you want the new car to go sideways like the old Skyline, only this time you wont enjoy it as it wont come back. Never had Toyos on a Subaru but they did perform well on my Honda, i liked the ZZ3's that i had on my Advans
bigdavie Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 squirrel will the 5mm spacers not affect the handling and or the geometry mate ?? and if so is it a good thing ??
