col666 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Havent fitted mine yet, so whats the best way of doing it? I am a master at fekin up stickers! Putting lettering on first sounds a bit dodgy, what if i dont put the base sticker on dead centre?
steven_williams Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 What happened to the ring round the stars on your mirror? Is it a pig to get correct? Should get mine done in the next week or two.
thewelsho Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 What happened to the ring round the stars on your mirror? Is it a pig to get correct? Should get mine done in the next week or two. Steven. I tired putting it on at the F&M but due to the curvature of the rear of the mirror, the ring creased up! So I took it off and left the stars. I dunno whether to do the other mirror the same as I have another decal, or take it off!
steven_williams Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 You can only try the other mirror and see what happens. It was probably to hot at f&m to do the job neatly and it would probably be better to have wet the mirror first to allow a bit of movement just as if you are doing the sunstrip on the windscreen. Best of luck m8 and let's see the pictures when it's finished. Steve

Putting lettering on first sounds a bit dodgy, what if i dont put the base sticker on dead centre? Col, that is the mistake I made. I got the actual visor on (eventually) but then trying to measure up the postion on the windscreen for the lettering becomes a nightmare. It's more difficult to fit and position the lettering while leaning over the bonnet than doing while it is laid falt on the floor. Fit the badges and lettering onto the visor, then using a fine mist sprayer, spray the windscreen with a water mixed with a little washing up liquid. Get another pair of hands and postion it as best you can. The water between the glass allows you to slide the visor around and/or peal it off if and refit if required. You just have to persevere with it until you get it right. Lastly, using a credit card, squeegie the water out from the visor making sure all little air bubbles are removed. Hope that helps! J
rallye6 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 apply sun visor first, spray wind screen with a light fine mist of water not to heavy with the water, then apply visor to windscreen use a credit card as a applicator to remove any air bubbles etc from vinyl. once complete apply letters and logos .any air bubbles left use a needle pierce a small hole in corner of bubble and use the credit card to push out the air. job done brian[H]
