gus the bus Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Anyone ever used these tyres? good[Y] or bad[N] Opinions please! been offered them @ an excellent price on 225/40/18's (with my wheels[]) just want to make sure they are up to the Yokohama name. Cheers Gus
craigwrx Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Not so sure about them Gus, they are a very soft tyre and not brilliant in the wet, not had any personal experiance with them, these are the remarks of a friend. Have you given any thought to Eagle F1s ??? ...not a great track tyre, but great for the road imo ..
rabskyline Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 i had falken 451's and were superb. but have been superceded by 452's. i also had toyo proxy's which were good too !
wrxmania Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Just DON'T get Yokohama C Drive - they are f***ing awful - can't wait 'till they are worn done!

wrxmania Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 NO - the front of the Primera - replaced my B F Goodrich G Force Profilers (which were really good). Never again. The Lex has Dunlop Sport Contacts 225/40/18 at the front and 255/40/18 t the back. Brian []

wrxmania Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Yes - but I think they may prove to be very useful in getting the power down... They are Dunlop SP Sport Maxx (I am sure) - I wonder how much???? Brian []
wrxmania Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 A bargain!!! That mean to change my four tyres is only £652 plus fitting - look forward to that!!!!! []
wrxmania Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 But just look at that Swissol SHINE!!!!!! Only 2 coats of wax so far... Brian []

FastScooby Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-tests?term=yokohama-s306 Yokohama S306 The Yokohama S306 is a low profile symmetric tyre that effectively resists wear. With its sporty feel, the tyre is also comfortable and quiet and offers good value. The Yokohama S306 has also been praised for its small bump absorption and excellent grip in dry conditions. The high traction tread is based on a new silica compound. The tyre performs better in the dry than in the wet. I had the parada spec 2 on my classic and had no probs with the grip in dry or wet... mines was £218 for 17's from scot tyre in broxburn...
gus the bus Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 A bargain!!! That mean to change my four tyres is only £652 plus fitting - look forward to that!!!!! [] Slightly less Brian. The fronts are a bargain £146[]
wrxmania Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Yeah - I can do a change (according to Black circles) with Pirelli P Zero Asymetrico (or whatever they are) @ rear and Pirelli P Zero Nero Directional on the front for £610 delivered. Glad I won't be needing tyres for a while! Brian []
st3ph3n Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Set right foot to "gentle". I go through less tyres on the scoob than I did on my old vectra. 10K on a set of fronts was only possible if the pope himself had blessed and installed them.
wrxmania Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 That was due to the LUDICROUS amounts of understeer. Did you see the STIG drive the new Vectra VXR on Top Gear? Unbelievable... Brian []
st3ph3n Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 It was a chronic lack of front end grip in a straightline as well as round the corners. Massive lift under acceleration making getting away from junctions in the wet almost impossible - from a 1.8 gutless engine too - and the lift at high speed was insane. 134mph in that thing. What was I thinking!
wrxmania Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Fortunately you are still able to think...no thanks to the "Lotus Engineered Chassis". B []
