Iaing Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Thinking about buying a Scoob mainly for the winter and track days as my V6 will be as much use as a chocolate fireguard once the snow comes. Is it possible to get a half decent (reliable) scoob for this sort of money? Iain

micra_wrc Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Iain, it depends on what kind of car you are after (classic or newage), how long you are prepared to wait/travel to view potential purchases etc but I reckon £6k is enough to get a decent scooby. £6k was my budget (though I was prepared to spend more than that for added security) and there were a lot of cars in autotrader/For Sale sections of scooby forums within that budget. I knew I wanted (a classic JDM STi) and figured it would be over 10 years old for minimal SVA registering hassle. I was prepared to wait to get a decent car and was even considering going down the import-auction route if i didnt see anything I liked in the UK. Also, I had the Squirrel helping me and he was able to quickly rule out any dodgy cars/cars that had been mistreated etc. so yes, I think £6k is enough to get a decent scooby if you take your time and hunt about []
