derek_robertson Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 This one started the day off, Louise Aitken Walker on SS1 The Hyundai clipped a wall with a rather large rock.............the rock won[]
road warrior Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Great couple o pics Scoobay We were standing down in the farm yard, at the bales on that stage, heared the bang, sounded sore A few managed to clip the fence there too Did you stay for the 2nd run? High drama then 2 cars into the trees up the top, and an Evo on 2 wheels down by the bales, I have loads of photos from the 3 days, just need to sort em out and I'll post some...
zeolite Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I was there Sat and Sun. Marshalling at Charterhall service on Saturday where I stuck my head in every rally car at least twice to give them times. Sunday Doug and I had our own little corner on Lambeth. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/1003/zeo...m%20Clark%2006/
Vicky Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 See you got a good pic of us in the mazda. We were out on the Fri/Sat aswell but crashed out big time on SS10 on saturday in the impreza so thats why we were out in the mazda on sunday. Had a great day on sunday, shame we went out on the Sat as we were up to 8th over all. Anyone get any pictures of us on the Friday/ Saturday, blue impreza with yellow sun strpi, car 177.
zeolite Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Hi Vicky! I was the red haired marshal that signed you in to Charterhall on Saturday. That was a hard day! Non-stop time-card frenzy for 6 hours. Good to see the old Mazda still running. I was talking to Phil about it last year and it must be the most home developed car in the country. Get Phil to stick up the spec on here as I am sure many folk would be interested. I used to have a couple of of 323 turbos so I have fond memories of the model.
craigdmcd Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 You never told me that you were a frequenter of this site Vicky. Once I get the wee one down to bed, I'll stick up a rough spec of the Mazda and I think Gaz got a photo in service. Fred and JD are on the case to get the Subaru sorted, and when travelling up the road, Phil mentioned how happy he was with your performance, so don't rule out the chance of getting asked again. At least this time you'll know not to even try saying "No" Craig
Vicky Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Think my maw got a cpuple pics too so i'll se if i can upload them. Also i think she got a picture of us going through the langton water splash in the impreza.

road warrior Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Vicky Dont know if you've seen this one or not, its pretty cool! http://www.ianhardy.net/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=48933 John
Vicky Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Yeh i saw that one, my with my gob wide open, belter or what.
Guest AlanK Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Was down there at the weekend aswell, still to load up my pics but they are mostly crap as I didn't make any of the decent bits and was rather peeved at getting charged 20quid for the 4 of us to stand in the field at Swinton..... Only decent pic I got was the white scooby sitting up against the tree as other cars drove past it - unfortunately it was probably the only car I never took a pic of at that part so missed the skid/crash/bump/bounce (erm the Sunday Eccles stage, cant remember what its called) AK
derek_robertson Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 OOOOPS......Donnie does it again!!!!! The Bothwell stage was a cracker to watch, worth noting for next year if it's used again.
road warrior Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Excellent Scoobay! The stage is always good when they run it in that direction, ALWAYS drama and action A bit more tame when they run it in reverse I used to live just 3 miles up the road from there when i was younger Traveled the 1st 1/2 of the stage in the school bus for all my school days!!!
derek_robertson Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 You can see the post & now missing drystone wall that Louise Aitken Walker hit in this piccie. The road surface was damp beneath the trees & covered in coooooosh!t. I spoke to Louise at the end of the stage where Steve Petch's mechanics were trying to rebuild the suspension/driveshaft etc...she said "I wasn't going that hard!!!!!!!!!" .........mmmmmmmmm I missed the initial impact but caught the car as it bounced off the post[sn]
road warrior Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 She certainly made a big enough bang when she hit! We went up for a look at the car that hit the tree after SS3 was cancelled and saw the mess of the wall, she made a good job! SS3 was stopped after this, The co-driver was knocked out and the ambulance had to come up the stage
dougster Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Does anyone have info on the RTA on Sunday on the Fogo road?
Vicky Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 *Edit* I removed my post as my facts were incorrect. Terrible news
road warrior Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Sadly it was a fatality A woman motorcyclist lost control of her bike on some loose gravel and went into the path of an oncoming lorry Unfortunatly the lorry couldnt stop To make matters worse her policeman husband was first on the scene of the accident My dad knows her parents, they are devastated.
craigdmcd Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Never nice to hear a story like that. Incidentally Quote from Vicky : Yeh i saw that one, my with my gob wide open, belter or what. Would that be you shouting "Ten Meenutess"[]
mitchelland Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Nice to see you have some nice pictures of car102 the yellow Chevette HSR
Nick100 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 The Bothwell stage was a cracker to watch, worth noting for next year if it's used again. Excellent pics Scoobay, and of Mrs AW earlier - bet she was embarrased ! You must have been standing next to me for the Bothwell stages - I was on the drive on the other side of the wall with my Scooby hat on and my Canon compact sitting on the gate post. Think we chatted - you were complaining about filling too many memory cards up with your EOS - worth it though - looks like you had a good weekend [] I got some good ones, especially at Swinton Crossroads - I'll try to post them up soon. Apparently the Internationals are going to run Bothwell next year - they've not been there for a couple of years - should be a good one ! I've been over on Scoobynet for 3 years years and although I occasionally look on SIDC, I've never registered previously - saw the stand at Charterhall on Saturday, but there was no-one around at the time. My black WRX MY03 was parked further down the drive along with a friends race prepared MINI, which we had a great blast around in on the Saturday.
Nick100 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Excellent Scoobay! The stage is always good when they run it in that direction, ALWAYS drama and action A bit more tame when they run it in reverse I used to live just 3 miles up the road from there when i was younger Traveled the 1st 1/2 of the stage in the school bus for all my school days!!! You must have lived at Crickness then ?? Beautiful spot, but I bet it gets a bit remote in the winter. Do you still know the locals ? PM me and I'll discuss further. Cheers Nick
