baser999 Posted July 7, 2006 Share Posted July 7, 2006 I was working in the control room of the London Ambulance Service on that day so you can perhaps imagine what sort of day we had. My recollections are mainly of how hard we all worked dealing with the major incidents and the sight of the Waterloo Road being closed and being used as a car park for ambulances being sent up from surrounding counties to cover us. I felt really proud when I left that night. Please don't believe everything you have since read and listened to about poor responses, breakdowns in communications etc. Bear in mind that whilst this was all ongoing we still had to provide a service for the rest of London.
