was at my little girls sports day today which she got a few 2nds!!!!!!!!!!! and at lunch time i decided to go to matalan for some shopping, got out car and alarmed with no probs. after about half an hour went back to the car and could not get the alarm and immob to de-activate, thinking it was a dead battery in the remote i went and got new batteries but still no luck.

at this point the car was getting called for everything and was nearly scrapped by this point, as my ins had just been changed over they had not set up my breakdown and it was going to cost £50 for someone just to come out!! (rip off!) so then the matalan security guard came out to help and showed me a bloody big mast and told me that this was a regular occurance???  so back up to homebase for a roll of tinfoil and at last i have a working car.

my god this car really doesnt like me at the moment??? has anyone else had bother like this or is it really just me! carolann

Have this all the time, I believe there is an updated ( and expensive no doubt) alarm module you can buy to stop this from happening.

I had very same problem 5 minutes after driving my car out of the garage after buying it, that was down to the mast at the local police station across from the petrol station I was in, their frequencies were jamming by signal. Makes you feel a right plank when yer standing there pointing the fob at the car and nothing happens [:$]

Have the same problem in the retail park in falkirk depending where you park it sometimes it works and you no the rest ,usually got to type in the imm code to get it started

I ve heard about this happening AlyB knows lots. But do you own a mobile phone? I used to put these masts up all over the country and only certain types affect alarms. In all mobile phone shops in all town centres there are mini mast stations, in Weggieville you are never more than a 100mtrs from a mast/mini mastsite (Central area). Take the road from Perth to Stirling there are 7no tree lookalike masts within 50mtrs of the road. Its called progress....apparently

This happened at happendon services on the leg of the RB Relay. The alarm in the P1 just wasn't for working. Obviously I had to snap the pictures of the great memorial push.

Happened to me in the old wagon outside a car dealer i stopped at didn't have a clue what to do but luckily found the immobiliser code.

what got me the most was the amount of men that walked past looking and never even offreed to help????? even i will go and help out if someone nearby has broken down etc, being female i dont know everything bout cars but i think i know enough??  i had two kids aswell who were playing up something rotten, between the kids/heat and the car i wasnt having a very good day LOL!!

i honestly think les done this to stop me spending money and planning to re-decorate!

This has happened to me loads of times in the Saltire car parks Carolann. First thing I did was waste money buying new batteries for the remote as well. I found that parking nearer Focus it wasn't so bad, but now I just lock the car with the key when I'm there, or being a man, I often use the excuse to Elaine that it's safer if I just stay in the car whilst she goes in to Matalan..........sometimes I use that story for Asda and Morrison car parks as well![6] (Glad she doesn't read this!!).

P.S. Past you yesterday near Gilvenbank Hotel. Cars looking and sounding great. I was waving like mad, forgetting I was in my work car at the time![:$]
