st3ph3n Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Not too sure how to tell it's an STI. Red top engine maybe? But the car should definitely be run on optimax. If it's an import that's not been mapped for the UK then optimax and booster will be required to keep it healthy.
darryl_martin Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Agree with above, optimax and booster if it's not been mapped, optimax if it has. Yes all sti's of that age are imports, whether that's what they were imported as is another matter. From what I've seen and heard the paperwork isn't always correct!!!!!! You could ring a dealer and give them the chassis no. If they sh!t a brick and tell you where to go then it's probably an import lol[] Otherwise red top engine would be a start.
johnnyr6 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 No, in 1995 you had the uk car, wrx and sti1. If it's an import it would be ebtter run on optimax. A STI version 1 does not have a red top engine but it does have a limited edition plaque telling you the build code. Early sti2's were about in 95 and these have a redtop engine (well red inlet manifold).
