Not denying that Phil, i've never liked Ronaldo, cocky wee arrogant bugger who at best is an average player, but the current witch hunt that's taking place is nothing short of scandalous. Stuff like "he's a cheat", "he's not welcome in this country", "he should never be allowed to play in England again" is disgraceful.

Why no witch hunt against Thierry Henry who for my money committed a much worse crime by feigning a blow to the face against Argentina ? Why is he not a "disgrace to the English game", " a cheat" and "shouldn't be allowed to play in England again", nothing to do with the fact that Ronaldo comitted his "crime" whilst playing against England by any chance ?

Amazing! What about Rooney? Is it ok to stamp on player's groins? And for Graham taylor's cr4p, that Rooney didn't know where he was stamping! What!!! Does that matter? intent is enough these days for player to be shown red. And for pity's sake man, Ronaldo did what ever other player has done, and will continue to do, here it is: complain to the referee! You see it ALL the time and England players are jsut as prone to it as other players. Rooney let himself, his team and his country down with his ridiculous behaviour. Is it any wonder why their deranged fans go on the rampage at every tournament when the likes of that nut is on show. What about Shearer advocating that Rooney should slap Ronaldo when they get back to Manchester? Fabulous punditry... another example of english mentality. The English footballing fraternity are nothing but arrogant, condescending idiots who think that the world revloves around them. ARGH - they make me sick the lot of  them!!!! Hopfully their rioting fans, again of which there are many, will see that the pompous men in white are not allowed to grace a major tournament for a while to come. As annoying and infurating as the English media hype is, perhaps we should learn to be patient. For if they ever managed to control themselves and didn't act in their pompous arrogant way, we wouldn't have all this pleasure when they finally bite the dust! Having said that though, I honestly belive that England have the potential to actually win the World Cup. The great teams of the past who are currently called "The Big Six" are no where near the class and brilliance of yesteryear and are there for the taking. Sadly, on this occassion for England, they were worse still. I think if England (footballing fraternity) 'hoped' to win the WC and not 'expected' to, they'd be in with a far better chance. As it was, they were too busy focussing on who they'd get in the semi final before a ball was kicked! How can anyone be focussed and prepared properly given that mindset? For reference, look at David Nalbandian - tut tut!

Can't agree Kloon! Fair enough if it was just 2 opposing teams but this was Ronaldo trying to influence the ref against his team mate. Plus he has said that he was trying to tell the ref it was a foul[*-)] The ref had already awarded the foul when Ronaldo came steaming in so I reckon he was trying to get Ronney sent off. Plus what about the players going down holding there faces when it was clear there face wasn't touched. Hate Cheats so I was siding with England after about 30mins. [8o|] Happy to support England as long as the don't actually win the trophy. [+o(]
